The problem was probably the result of my staying for six nights.

I probably would not get better results -- I took the 6 nights as an award stay.

Sadly, I have to bow out of this DO. I was going to made it anchor of my June European vacation with a work trip on the front end (meaning work would pay my way over) but between work trip not happening, that weekend being a big reunion year at my alma mata *and* the big TK comfort class sale/MR opportunity to HKG, we'll be going there for the summer vacation instead.

Bummed as I was really looking forward to finally getting to Prague but ...

Glad I booked the Marriott when I did, as pricing as gone up. I'm also holding an inexpensive CY Flora ressie ($93.72US/night@ current exchange rate; includes breakfast), but think I'll stick w/ Marriott. If someone wants the CY, we can talk to Marriott about switching name on reservation.

Edited to add: just realized the rate is a Marriott elite rate, so if someone wants to take it over they'd need to have status w/ Marriott. I thought it was the AAA rate, but that's the rate I'm holding at the Marriott.

Edited to add again: There is a LPR (local promotion rate) @ CY Flora that is $102.51US/night@ current exchange rate) that also includes breakfast. You don't have to be elite w/ Marriott. It's a publicly available rate. It's listed as Malev promotion. No idea who or what Malev is, but checking rate rules standard stuff - 6pm DOA cancel.

Cheers.

OT Answer: Malev Hungarian Airlines (MA) are one of the few One World airlines in Europe (along with BA, IB, and AY). They also offer one of the few paths to status matches into One World, and will even match other OW carriers. Their programme is awful on regular status earning and retention, and suffers from hard expiry of all miles regardless of status.

I leave home in 2 days. What are y'all packing? I assume this is a casual weekend with no dress-up clothes necessary. Should we expect temps < 70F/20C with cool evenings?

A quick google ...

http://www.pragueexperience.com/info...nformation.asp
Clothes to wear: As with many European cities, the Prague weather is highly changeable all year round. Even in the summer bring a warm jumper and a waterproof jacket or umbrella in case of a cold spell. Conversely, in warm in the spring, summer and autumn, cool shorts, skirts and dresses can be very welcome. Sunscreen, sunglasses and hats can also be important.

Although, maybe some advise from those on the ground would be more useful.
