I've had a very busy week and missed a fair bit of 'check in' time to see the latest on FT, so my thoughts and prayers are with Mike, a very interesting dinner companion, and Marty, a fun guy to chew the fat with, over a beer, are feeling 100%, asap.

Thanks for the heartfelt and wise notes about your experiences, Mike.
Especially for FT's hardworking road warriors who might be in high pressure situations.

Cheers,
Ben

I haven't been keeping up with FT lately so thanks for your question, Canarsie, even if answer is late.

I am in good health but small damage to heart has kept me from high altitudes (hence, Cuzsco and Nepal not DO destinations in either Mike's or my lifetime), makes afternoon naps a must and slowed me down on the long distance flights.......

Miss not seeing you for so many moons!

I hope that your back surgery is as painless and flawless as possible, and that you recover back to complete health as quickly as possible.I remember when that happened.

How are you feeling today, dedehans?

Hi everybody. I am still in the hospital even though I was supposed to be released yesterday. The surgery appears to have been a huge sucess untangling all my nerves and fusing the vertebrae. Unfortunately, my body has taken an extra couple days to heal as compared with the average patient. I was able to get out of bed and do a few laps around the floor tonight which was a healthy sign. Hopefully I will be released tomorrow or sent to physical rehab.

Thanks again to all of you for your support. It has meant a lot to me and the other FTers who fallen ill.

Best wishes from my heart to my fellow sick members.

Always going for the tight connection so you can get routed through Barcelona, eh? I had to read your last line about "sick members" to get the real meaning. Get well Martyballs!

Jaimito is correct that the quickes way home from Central America is via BCN.

I am glad to report that I will be released from the hospital in 30 minutes. 6-8 weeks with a back brace and I should be back to car renting and globe trotting. Yay!!!
