Yes, I know someone who works in Citi's credit card division and he told me about this a couple of days ago. Haven't had this card since after the first year, when the rep would not offer me a downgrade to the free Expedia card or product change to a different free card, so I just cancelled it. Probably should have hung up and tried again.

So at this point their only cobrands for new applicants are AA and Costco?

Will be interesting to see what happens when the AA contract is up as they’ll have Barclays to contend with

Currently, yes. The Barclays deal is a remnant of their purchase of US Air, I believe. Not clear it would affect the long-standing relationship with Citi.

I got a notice that Expedia+ cards are being converted to TY Premier cards. I believe the no-AF cards are being converted to Rewards+.

It was, but after the merger closed AA renewed contracts with both Citi and Barclays- speculation was that neither was willing to pony up enough to be the exclusive cobrand partner.

Not sure when those contracts are up (I think they were negotiated around 2016?) but it’ll be interesting to see what happens.
