Thanks mrkymark and CVG_KID. Linked accounts and all is good now. The flights I found on ITA did not show up when I searched the CTY site, but called in and had no problem booking. They even quoted the same fare I found, which has not always been my experience.

Is there a way to tell when you were approved? I can see when my account was opened, but I'm unsure if that is the approval date...

obviously depends on the day job. To make 4x my day job you'd need to be doing $50k a day at 5% clear across the board. I'd rather stick with the day job. Plus the future career prospects are not great

Wouldn't consider MS as a day job either, just extra $ for travel expenses...we have a horrible addiction to travel However, I doubt many of us here are making the $650k a year you claim, or substantially more if you are talking net income.

I churned an AA card 5 months ago while making heavy use of 5x promo.

Your math is way off. If 50k/day at 5% cashback = 4x the poster's salary, then the poster earns $625/day in salary. (50,000 x .05 = 2,500. 2,500/4 = $625).

At 261 working days per year (365 - 104 weekend days), the poster would be making $163,125 (625x261). And that's assuming no fees. Once you add in VR fees and liquidation fees, you'd be clearing even less than $2,500 on 50k spend.

Not sure why you think he's claiming to make $650k/year.

You mean you stopped applying for Citi cards since doing this 5x thing?

I've gotten 2 exec cards and 1 prestige just in the past 3 months.

I would recommend against NOT applying for cards you have a fancy for.

That's all I am going to say. For more, come to the CLT DO --oh wait tickets are sold out.

Wow! You spent $420!?!? That's almost $17 in cashback. Sky is the limit with this card.

I got tix for the DO, but no plane tix. This AA/US merger didn't work out exactly the way I planned. Very limited availability on ba.com from NYC. And limited options for tix on the TY website. I need pretty specific times. Am I gonna actually have to pay for them? UGH!
