Booking flight to Shanghai

Hi there,

I fly to Shanghai at the end of March together with my daughter. The flight is from Cardiff, UK to Amsterdam and then on to Shanghai. So I need to book 2 seats on the way there. However, on the way back I bring my wife with me, so I will need 3 seats for the return flight.
What is the best way for me to book? I checked the KLM website, but the one way ticket is only available in business class, which is way to expensive for me. The same goes for the return flight.

Can I book 3 seats for both ways, but only occupie 2 seats on the way to Shanghai? Any input would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks a lot.

There is a Chinese travel agent in Hamburg specialized in cheap flights from and to China. They have a one way flight with MU from Shanghai to any German airport via Frankfurt for 415 Euros. Just call them to see if they have something to the UK. their website is http://www.caissa.de/en/index.php?lang=en
You can find the contact details there. Don't try to look up other things if you don't read German. There is not much of translation.

Booking flight to Shanghai

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I did take a look at the website, and the flight to Shanghai is cheap enough, but the return is rather expensive.
I found a flight one way to shanghai for me and my daughter from London with Lufthansa. I also was able to find a flight with BA for 3 people from Shanghai back to London. All in all it will cost me about 1300.
I don't think this is too bad.
If there is a cheaper alternative, please let me know.

Thanks a lot.

If it was Germany, Caissa would quote 2x return from FRA or MUC to PVG for 309 Euro plus 415 Euro one way from PVG by Air China. With an estimate tax of 90 Euros per leg that sould be another 450 Euros, adding up to a total of 1483 Euros which is less than 1000 . They might have a similar deal for LHR.
