Thanks for the reply. I did take a look at the website, and the flight to Shanghai is cheap enough, but the return is rather expensive.
I found a flight one way to shanghai for me and my daughter from London with Lufthansa. I also was able to find a flight with BA for 3 people from Shanghai back to London. All in all it will cost me about £ 1300.
I don't think this is too bad.
If there is a cheaper alternative, please let me know.
