Shenzhen visa for Canadian and British passport holders?

I recalled reading in the past that Canadian passport holders can go to the mainland by getting a special Shenzhen visa on arrival at the HK-Shenzhen border. It's about 170 CNY right? Does that visa still exist? A friend of mine is flying to HK later this week and she might want to accompany me, but she is a British passport holder. I'm not sure if she will be eligible for that visa if she goes to the border with me.

Are you in HK now? Why are you asking here--you should be able to get up-to-date information at the Commissioners office in Wanchai, or at agents like CITS or Forever Bright. In the past, the 5-day Shenzhen border pass was available to Canadians, Brits, and most other nationalities (not Americans though). However, sometimes the Chinese will shut down this option temporarily, as during the Asian Games in Guangzhou.

Yes, I'm in HK now and I thought it would be easier to ask on FT than going there myself and ask. I guess I'll have to do that now.

That's all I can do, the regulations, particularily for US/UK/CA are tricky and I refrain from (again) giving the wrong advice
