Agree completely. Flying isn't special and its not an event to get dressed up for. The only time I'm not completely casual on a airliner is when I have to go to work immediately after leaving the airport. Outside of that, I'm wearing whatever I feel I will be most comfortable in.

This is even more important when you're on a J or F int'l flight. Who wears slacks and a button down to lie-flat and sleep? Granted, a tank-top and pajama pants would definitely be going a bit over the top, but the average person with an even partially intact sense of common decency can choose something that's both comfortable and acceptable.

Some people will complain no matter what. It's like reading hotel reviews on tripadvisor.com. Even the 5-star resorts that have staff to do everything but assist you while using the biday wind up with the occasional 1-star response from a customer. For them, the biday water was either too cold or too hot; never just right.

Interesting thread, but the OP 1) registered & posted on September 11 (coincidence?), 2) posted exactly ONCE and never again in the nearly two weeks since that time, 3) has a somewhat fishy story, and 4) has a handle "geheim" which means "secret" in German.

So, what does this all add up to? Perhaps the story is real, and the OP was advised by an attorney to stop discussing the event in a public forum? Or perhaps the OP is a troll and is laughing at the lengthy discussion the fake story has provoked? Or perhaps.... ?

Can anyone corroborate the OP's story, at least in part?

Inquiring minds....

Aside from starting the thread, I think the OP's post is irrelevant at this point. The discussion itself has become the point of the thread, and it's been an interesting one with so many opinions.

The lesson that should be learned: don't use foul language in public.
It never results in anything positive, does it?

Shouldn't FA's judge security threats based on perceived intent rather than word choice?

Yes, in polite society, the F word has no place.
But the US is no longer the place for polite society, it seems................

True....

Bumper sticker on the car that entered the parking garage in front of me today: "It's a nice day so far, don't go f***ing it up".

Car was driven by an ordinary looking suburban woman, with license tags to the effect of ____zmom.....

I move to lock it until/unless OP responds with a second post.

Folks,

We've had a number of complaints about this thread either 1) going off-topic from the OP's complaint or 2) suggestions that the OP was trolling and why isn't this thread closed.

As for the former concern, it would be nice if discussions of dress-code that aren't specifically related to safety and security issues be taken up in TravelBuzz!; and to the latter concern, please continue to use the RBP function to alert mods of housekeeping issues, rather than detracting from legitimate, topical posts.

Thank you for your consideration.
