Oh, knowing the little Japanese I do, I can think of several rather impolite ways to express what I think of Comrade Hawley.

Hi, Spiff! Friends from the mainland are sometimes asking for a list of Hawai'ian cuss words, and your quote has always been my response. There are no Hawai'ian cuss words! Interesting. Aloha!!!

I just posted something about it on my blog as well.

I know everything is perfect in your world at SAT, but frequent fliers have vented their objections and disgust at nearl everyone possible.

Take a step back and look at the big picture. Every time us flyers complain about something, we get the following:

- "We need to see picture ID" to simply obtain a complaint form.
- "You must fill out the form right here and submit it to me" line from a supervisor.
- "We're out of complaint forms"

And if someone DOES fill out a complaint form or writes a letter on their own, what is recevied in return is a boilerplate response.

Even the airlines and the congresscritters are mastering the template responses.

There is ZERO accountability in and about the TSA. The only thing that has changed at the TSA were the guidelines on the breast fondlings. And that was modified only because the TSA suffered public ridicule at the hands of the media through public outrage.

MKEBound was merely venting frustration. He/she happened to run into a TSAer who got his/her ego bruised by it and a typical power-tripping TSA Supervisor.

I don't know why you're carrying on this crusade about ridiculing people. This has benefits to FFers AND TSAers in that it's a step towards perhaps getting rid of this inane policy.

I couldn't fit "____ is/are (a) .........(s)" in the little white label space of my ziploc quart bag. How are you guys managing this? Writing it on masking tape that you're putting on the bag?

I have flights coming up soon. Please advise.

peace,
~Ben~

A big black sharpie will write quite nicely on Ziploc bags.

I was thinking of getting a T-shirt made that says "The bill of rights applies inside airports despite the TSA's assertions to the contrary" and see what happened next.

Thanks for the tip. I am very tempted to write upon mine in Arabic, "LLM's stuff" and see what happens.

I think writing "toiletries" in Arabic would be amusing.

From my post several pages back:

As a public service to my fellow FTers, here you go:

English: Kip Hawley is an idiot.
French: Kip Hawley est un idiot
Spanish: La kilolibra Hawley es un idiota
German: Kip Hawley ist ein Idiot
Italian: Il Kip Hawley è un idiot

Now for the fun one:

Arabic: كيبي هاولي هو يحتسي

Heck, I think my name alone in Arabic might terrify them. Surely we should label our baggies to make sure we get back the right one anyway?

You're welcome.

peace,
~Ben~

PS> I'm not offering this for sale. The link purposefully goes not to someone's online store, but the item in editable and individually purchaseable mode. If you want this or any other Kip Hawley is an idiot graphics by email, just PM me and I'll be more than happy to oblige.
