This is...war on American citizens. By our own government. The fact that people can get drivers licences does NOT reflect on the back ground check the government did on me for TTI.

CBP Notifies NY It Will No Longer Process Trusted Traveller Applications or Renewals
Just saw a TV interview with the Acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Chad Snow, He said that they notified NY State today that because of NY's passage of the Green Light Law DHS will no longer process any new or renewal applications for any Trusted Traveller program (GE, TSA pre-check) because the law prevents CBP access to DMV records, which CBP needs as part of the Trusted Traveller program application review. This will be interesting to see how this shakes out.

PS if DUI is disqualifying event - why should DHS continue with TTP for NY when they cant check those records? Not really "trusted traveller" anymore.

Makes sense, though, if NYS DMV truly isn’t sharing info with the feds.
The stories seem conflicting, though. The headlines make it sound like current GE holders are affected, but the text says only enrollments and renewals.
Doesn’t New York issue “enhanced” licenses that can be used to enter Canada? Is New York sharing info with Canada but not the U.S. federal government?
