TSA sceens TSA - first time I've seen this

Just passed through security at FNT... TSA agents coming back to checkpoint from general terminal area had to put all their stuff through X-ray machine and go through WTMD and PASS! First time I've ever seen this; so it probably was a mistake for a slow Sunday afternoon.

On the other hand, looks like our flight is going to have a gate screening (not more than 50 feet from security) because the screening obviously doesn't work and it needs to be redone at gate.

Oh wait.... maybe that's why TSA agents are going through security .. it serves no purpose? Connect the dots...

Well, I did see one female TSO getting a "rubdown" by a white-shirted TSA person, but I assume that was just a training exercise, as no other "blue shirt" TSO was observing. So I guess part of your wish was observed.

On more than one occasion, I have personally seen a TSA screener who is going on duty place their backpack on the x-ray machine and then walk through the WTMD, but I did not see the screener empty his pockets, take off his shoes and belt and remove any metal objects on his uniform.

Considering the lack of security screeners have to go through when entering the sterile area of a terminal, these screeners pose a more serious security threat than the passengers they are screening.

And judging by the amount of screeners arrested in the past few years for various crimes, I would say there are more than a few untrustworthy screeners out there supposedly protecting our transportation system.

As I have posted before, since the TSA screeners consider me a potential terrorist until I clear security, I consider every TSA screener I come into contact with a potential thief until I safely retrieve all my personal belongings after clearing security.

I witnessed a supervisor putting on a belt and tucking in their shirt. I must have given a funny look because they said, "I'm just getting dressed again after a drill." I laughed and asked why it involved getting undressed and they said that they regularly do drills where supervisors go through in plain clothes. I didn't ask anything further about it, but it did strike me as pointless. Just because the supervisor is in plain clothes that doesn't mean all the people they supervise won't recognize them by their face.

It works BOTH ways

Nice to see TSO's getting screened prior to entering the sterile area (although not nearly thoroughly enough it seems) due to the danger of having a marginalized employee smuggling something through the checkpoint, but given the on-going problem of theft from passengers, it seems that these screeners need to be searched on the way out as well. The question is, who can we trust to conduct *these* searches?

I've seen this at DCA. TSA clerk casually walks by TDC while waving his badge. Saunters through the WTMD with jacket and shoes on, alarms, and doesn't stop.

My first though: Oooh! Screener-on-screener action! Are there any poles, gels, or naughty bits involved?

I can see a TSA Porn Star movie now... "Ooh! Come over here, you naughty screener! Allow me to confiscate that bottle, we're gonna make you all wet!"

"Hey, is that an iPad in your pants, or are you just happy to see me? Oh, it's an iPad."

Maybe the supervisors put bags over their faces when they go through the line, so their employees won't recognize them. @:-)

Of course, the bags would have to have smiley faces drawn on them so the crackpot BDOs they employ won't mistake a non-expression or frowny face as a sign of terrorism.

I dunno, seems like they were screened thoroughly enough to me. I wish all passengers were screened that way. @:-)

Newest way to get through security with prohibited items right here:
Claim you are a TSA supervisor conducting a drill.
