Listen to the sound of the world's smallest violin, playing just for those poor poor screeners who feel SO put upon by passengers objecting to being treated as though they were convicted terrorists for daring to want to fly to Grandma's for the holiday. My heart just WEEPS for those poor, put-upon screeners.

I agree wholeheartedly with your take on the response - fair's fair, after all, and they've been telling us for YEARS that if we didn't like what they were doing, "well, the bus terminal's over thataway." Well, you blue-shirted tin-badged cop-wannabes, don't let the door hit you in the butt on your way out, if you've got a problem with the honest reactions you're getting from millions of peaceful, innocent, law-abiding travellers who are fed up with your assaults.:mad::mad::mad:

Perhaps the TSA would like to allow the traveling public to randomly grab private areas of their body in the name of airport/aircraft safety while the screeners are on their way to work? Because then they could stop complaining of feeling victimized and get in line to complain about actually being victimized.

Not much sympathy here either...he who lies down with dogs will rise with fleas.

They should have paid more attention in school and then maybe they could have gotten a better job than being a glorified mall security guard who rapes kids all day. No sympathy.

Whether they feel victimized or not is a nonissue. The point is that they aren't making enough noise about it, and until they do I will treat them without respect.

I am sure there are some that generally get abused for no reason and do not like doing the pat downs.

However, there are others that are creepers and pervs that direct desirable looking people to the NOS or a friendly pat down.

When TSA stops taking away people's rights and dignities, I will stop calling them molesters.

When TSA stops hiding the SOP from the traveling public I will stop calling them the gestapo.

When TSO's actually know the regulations that they are supposed to follow and don't partake in abusing their power over the traveling public, I will stop calling them criminals.

I think you get the idea.

They won't make noise about it because (ahem, 9/11), life stopped for them (ahem, 9/11). They have no existence (ahem, 9/11). Their sister could be raped and killed, but (ahem, 9/11).

Like many issues in life, like African Americans or Gays being all allowed to live open lives, their oppressors will need to be given time to die off. Too bad TSA sucked up a young group (Hitler youth?) who should have been educated better.

You know, I worked myself up and had a blistering diatribe to post here in response to all the haterade some of you have obviously been swilling, but then I stopped and came back to earth. You are all entitled to your opinions even if I disagree with them. The level of vitriol in this thread is completely deplorable. Some of you I have had respectful debate with, some of you I have even had heated debate with (but still respectful), but it is obvious that some of you don't understand debate/dialogue and how it is supposed to work. Some of you obviously are at odds with the fact that many Americans do not think the same way you do - some think the hullaballoo is a big fuss over nothing (even thought they know just as much about the process as any of you do), some folks have no clue what the process is and dont care to know, they just want to get to the plane and leave with as little hassle from TSA OR folks putting flyeerout at an airport about the "evils" of the process or machinery used - and some sympathize with what many folks here post. I have pretty much gone to lurking (mostly due to the climate of sensitive information and the changes that have been made and will inevitably result from the junk going on with Wiki, but due in some part to the fact that a large contingent of the folks that post here do not debate or discuss - they spew vile debris), and will continue to do that posting from time to time like I have been- much to the chagrin of some members here.

The main point I was going to make was this was actually an interview with someone that claims to be a TSO. With some of the lack in current media fact checking, I am not willing to give the benfit of the doubt to some nameless person on a local news station - that being said, if this was in fact, a TSO then they were giving many of you EXACTLY what you have been pushing for, some TSO pushing back against the "machine" in some way shape or fashion - yet you degrade them and continue to heap on them even when they are actually making headway for (some of the folks here) a listed goal. Funny really, reminds me of the tale of the scorpion and the frog:

There's no way you're for real.

gsoltso is for real, and has a history of expressing his views in a reasonable and respectful manner. He has also provided insight into the check point experience from the viewpoint of a TSO who makes the best of a difficult job, and manages to keep a sense of decorum and humor.

Yes, feelings run high in this forum, and while I am not above poking fun at screeners and railing against them over clear abuses, way too much bandwidth is wasted here in simply puerile name-calling or worse.

If screeners, even one, are feeling the heat then as I posted before that's good. For all of us.

BTW the "it's not true" or "it never happened" defense just doesn't cut it. :rolleyes:
