A non statement by a petty bureaucrat. We caught Blogdad Bob in a rather feeble attempt at misdirection and they wonder why their credibility continues accelerating in free fall.

Might be nice if, for a change, they came clean and were honest with the people they attempt to protect. Also might be nice if their managers who got the bonuses returned those bonuses with a letter of resignation.

I for one, am tired of security theater. Put an end to the performance, shut it down, and reopen with new management capable of real security and with someone they answer to on a daily basis.

Look out boys and girls, we done ticked off some

Look out boys and girls, we done ticked off some Congress-critters. This is in a letter to Nappy.

http://www.rebelmodel.com/tsa/congre...n-tsa-leak.pdf

6. How has the Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration addressed the repeated reposting of this security manual to other websites and what legal action, if any, can be taken to compel its removal?

7. Is the Department considering issuing new regulations pursuant to its
authority in section 114 of title 49, United States Code, and are criminal
penalties necessary or desirable to ensure such information is not reposted
in the future?

Please contact Mr. Joseph Vealencis of the Republican Committee staff at (202) 226-8417 if you have any questions regarding the requests for information in this letter.

I think its an internal statement not really intended for the public, but still:

#1 Who knows?
#2 Probably.
#3 None.
#4 None.
#5 Running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
#6 None.
#7 Sure thing we'll get right on it.

#5 is rather telling. This was a SOP for a manager. If you wanted to know how to calibrate a WMD there is a pdf on line from the DOJ that gives even better specifics on just how to calibrate the WMD, the dimensions of the object and materials they are to be made of. Pretty specific and not secret by any means. They're attempting to rescue their goons from actions. A pox on the house of politicians.

Pretty specific given that it was meant for prisons.

What are these guys smoking? This is like back the days of USENET when people would cry about trying to have something removed from the internet. It doesnt work that way.

It is probably on half the server farms on the planet... The barn door is open and the honey bees are out in the wild.

When you have Shoe Perverts "in charge" of the TSA who think that the x-ray detects explosives while ignoring not one, but two perfectly good pieces of technology that actually do detect explosives, it's no wonder you have idiotic "please recall this information" requests from snot-nosed luddites...

I am in the process of drafting an email to Rep. Pete King. ( [email protected] )

I will post the completed email when I am done.

This is what I have right now.

Dear Rep. Pete King,

Today you published a letter written to Janet Napolitano in which you expressed alarm that the "specific procedures for calibrating magnetometers" was released in the poorly redacted TSA SOP.

That procedure is widely known as any internet search will reveal. In fact the Department of Justice has an in depth document describing the details of that procedure. The DOJ hosted document also includes mechanical drawings and specifications for test objects.

You can find the in depth DOJ document at http://www.ncjrs.gov/pdffiles1/nij/193510.pdf

You also expressed alarm over the fact that the TSA SOP has been reposted on websites not under Government control. In your letter you revealed your eagerness to punish those that dared to post NON-secret information. As I am sure you are aware SSI stands for SENSITIVE Security Information.
I am stuck on the wording of the italicized, any suggestions?

As I am sure you are aware SSI stands for SENSITIVE Security Information and in no way is either confidential, secret or top secret, any of which would indeed compromise national security. This poorly redacted document was the standard operating procedure for a member of TSA management and in no way disclosed the SOP for screeners. This leaves the SOP for screeners still in the uncompromised state it was in prior to the discovery of the poorly redacted SOP for TSA supervisors.

The SSI designation for TSA documents skirted the requirements for classified documentation. It also allowed people who would not normally qualify for a security clearance to have daily access to the SSI documents in order to do their jobs. The SSI label required no stringent background investigation as would normally be the case to access classified documents. The SSI label, while being approved by Congress, bypasses the measures normal classified document requirements.

Something like that?
