Abusing Chase PP Refund

As I understand it, if you forget your PP card, you can just pay the lounge entry fee and get Chase to reimburse you up to twice a year. I called to ask how it works and was informed that you can bring in an unlimited number of guests because the 2 reimbursements are based on the number of charges and you are reimbursed in UR points that you can redeem for a statement credit for the lounge charges.

That said, couldn't I just "forget" my PP card on my annual family trip to Seattle and buy 4 day passes for the AS BR, thus buying 20,000 UR for $200, which seems like a cheap and painless way to get some UR?

Let us know how this goes - many DP's exist where the CSR was "wrong" and other CSR's/supervisors would not honor

Several data points indicate that while Chase will reimburse you for the lounge entry fee, that reimbursement is counted against your $300 annual travel credit. If that's how you want to spend your annual travel credit - by "forgetting" your PP card - then have at it. I'd prefer to use the PP card - for free - and utilize the annual travel credit against my actual spend. (Those data points are from other threads on FT and on Reddit.)

Edit to add: How is $200 spend equal to 20,000 UR points? Travel spend on CSR is 3 points per dollar, no? What am I not understanding in that mathematic calculation?

OP said that Chase reimburses PP entry fees in the form of UR. So if you spend $200, they'd give you 20k UR, which theoretically you would cash out for $200 as reimbursement.

If the reimbursement comes out of the annual travel credit, this idea is dead in the water. If it doesn't, I discourage it on the basis that this is Chase actually being customer-friendly. Don't discourage them.

That's assuming the travel credit hasn't been exhausted.

A non-UR data point: This happened to me once, but I charged it to my Ritz card and they credited my Ritz card without the deducting from my $300 travel credit.
