Or perhaps this has already happened and they haven't told us?
Maybe a hacker might benefit greatly by hacking into a governmental system but the chances of a drone coming out your way (most of these hackers are international) are highly likely!

I think people are missing my point. It's not the fact that your CC# is compromised. That's an easy fix/resolution.

It's more the fact that someone (or some computer algorithm) may flag your MS on your Chase accounts as potential fraud given the recent hacking.

Personally, I'm switching all my MS cards to Citi or Amex for the near term.

Uh, not so fast! Hackers hit about 9 other financial firms.

Point of Data: (NON MS Card) Chase United:

2 Fraud charges appeared Saturday (didn't check the card until today - 2 days later) totaling $700 (+ change)

Called Chase, they immediately cancelled the card, sent a new one overnight to be delivered by 2pm tomorrow and said the refund will show up in 24-48 hours if not to call back.

No clue if it's related but I never use that chase card online, only at the grocery store and their gas station and I never even hand the card to the cashier I always swipe it myself through the machine.

Funny thing is 1 charge was for Delta (If I'm going to spend money on Delta I'll use my Delta card or a CB card)

Got an alert this morning that someone had attempted to add herself as an AU on my Freedom account. CSR in the fraud department had me setup an account password (previously they had asked for mother's maiden name). Since it was an attempt to add AU, the CSR said he thought it was the result of someone obtaining personal info, rather than card info (sounds like a reasonable conclusion to me). Will be monitoring my credit reports and accounts very closely for a while.

CSR said that all my accounts will have extra special Chase fraud prevention protection by a specific department for 90 days (don't recall the department).

Whomever used your card on Delta is dumb, they can easily trace it back! Same with the gas stations and grocery (with camera).

2 United + 1 Hotwire totaling $2000+
someone traveled from Newark to Fort Lauderdale on the 10th

Funny thing is I just activated my new card tonight (the one they sent me as a result of the Home Depot hack)

Two cards got hacked. Chase Freedom and CSP. Both within the same week. One was within state (online merchant) and the last time I used the card was at some random gas station (to meet 3Q bonus) where I think it was hacked. CSP was used in an international location after I used it in Asia. Really frustrating.

Got hit with two charges at Home Depot (irony, anyone?) totaling about $200. Elected to have both Freedom and CSP replaced, bother overnighted without having to ask.

One of mine just got hit. Luckily I have alerts set up, so I caught it when it was still a 7-cent authorization (some Mexican telecom company). Card closed, new one on the way.

Chase Got Hacked

Same here. We have had a few cases in the last few years with chase. On Wednesday it was the hyatt card. I get alerts so I saw a .04 authorization come from Brazil. Called them right away. They cancelled card and sent a new one overnight. This card is rarely used. Did use it in September but it had been awhile before that.
