Me too started cashing out points from Freedom - before I realized the value. So far have used it UA (booked QR flights for 3 family members). Have not used it for any other programs so far.

For those of you who have transferred to Southwest, how long did it take?

It was instant, but I had to log off of Southwest and log back in. Save the itinerary you are looking at to save some work once you log back in.

Yep, I just did this. 24000 points for two first class Acela Express ticket ($552). Then two nights in the new Hyatt Union Square for 18000 points/nt. This one wasn't the greatest value (1.73 cents per point vs. the AAA rate there on my dates), but I'm loaded up on both United miles and UR points right now and didn't wanna spend the $625.

Very nice, congrats! What hotel/resort? (if you're staying at one)

My wife and I have redeemed for air miles (several times to top off accounts for award tickets), air travel (when the cost of the ticket made it a better choice than an award ticket), and reimbursement for other misc expenses (IMHO, not our best use).

We prefer to use for air travel when the cost of the ticket makes it a better choice than an award ticket but that doesn't happen much anymore.

Air miles. Recent trip to Thailand was well worth it on Lufthansa and Thai metal. Thank you Ink Bold, Chase Sapphire and United Explorer cards. UR is the gift that keeps giving.

I have done some to Southwest to maximize the remaining trips on my companion pass, but the rest have all gone to Hyatt.

I've done UA miles and Amtrak. I can see myself transferring to Hyatt in the future or Southwest (I have Companion Pass).

Amex often has bonuses for transferring to BA, so I wouldn't use UR for them.

My wife and I have redeemed for Hyatt points, Priority Club points, various gift cards, United miles, United tickets (when it was a better deal than air miles), and plain old reimbursement for charges made to the card. At the time, each one seemed (to us) to be a good usage of points .... ymmv ....
