The 100K offer with staggered spend is live again. (9/17/15)

Additional discussion can be found here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/chase...-75k-100k.html

50K, 75K or 100K offer https://creditcards.chase.com/a1/ba/nonaep?CELL=6H8X

Public link on Chase.com
https://creditcards.chase.com/credit...H0&list=4,2,1&

50,000 Avios after $2000 in purchases within the first 3 months
25,000 Avios after an additional $8000 in purchases within the first year
25,000 Avios after an additional $10000 in purchases within the first year
(Thus, a total of $20000 spend for 100,000 Avios)

Annual fee $95 NOT waived
Card earns 1 Avios/$ on everyday spend

Warning: Avios do not work like other types of miles and points
The British Airways system is distance based, priced per segment, with very high fees and fuel surcharges possible, depending on the airline flown. In particular, redemptions for British Airways flights are often the worst value. Therefore, one of the most popular uses of points is for short-haul flights on partner airlines.

Make sure you understand the program thoroughly before you apply for this card, as whining may be considered off-topic. Most questions and advice have already been given within this thread.

LA is a tricky spot for BA (because it's far away) but 1) 100,000 is a lot, totally worth it. 2) I know a blog that can give tips for Using BA to SouthAmerica. \/
But LA to Hawaii is perfect for BA.

Agree. Why not get 2 AA and the BA?

Unless your credit history is lousy or you're a chrurner with a bunch of hard pulls already, shouldn't be an issue - so long as you can meet spend that is. And if you have access to VR, meeting spend isn't difficult.

So are the following airports using Alaska (assuming you only want to redeem for coach - since AS F is 3x the price)

in the Bay area: OAK,SJC,SMF to KOA,OGG,HNL,LIH or if down South use SAN as well.

Great amounts of award availability and at only 25k Avios R/T. Plus AS allows $150 o/w upgrades on these tickets so $300 + 25k Avios = an interesting cash+points redemption option to get to Hawaii in First Class.

Just pointing out a different good use of this card considering he's located in LA.

BTW, how exactly does one use the companion pass? The T&C mention that it needs to be used at time of booking. Is there a code you put in when making the reservation?

You can do that or call, BA shouldn't charge you a fee for this.

There is no code to enter. You simply check the box on the booking page, indicating that you want to use your voucher.

If you call on the phone, the usual booking fee will apply.

They don't send out a certificate. It shows up on the home page of your Executive Club account, usually within a week or two or hitting the 30k spend. Typically, you will receive an e-mail notification, but not always.
