What was her experience? What lounge did she use and what were the hours? Thanks!

Cathay Pacific – Chicago (ORD) Lounge

I itinerary will be AUS-ORD-HKG in F. Sadly, the last direction flight between AUS to ORD lands at 7:25pm, which leaves me with FIVE hours at the airport. Since I'll be arriving on a AA flight to ORD and flying first class to HKG in CX, could I access the AA flagship lounge?

AA uses Terminal 3 ORD
The Flagship Lounge is in Terminal 3
CX uses Terminal 5 (so much for seamless oneworld transit! There is no airside transit)
So you need to take the free people mover train to Terminal 5 and go thru security with your boarding pass
Note that CX offers no Priority security lane at Terminal 5
CX departs from Terminal 5 hence you need to use the BA F lounge in Terminal 5

Quite funny, ethnic Chinese but spoke no Mandarin nor Cantonese
The ‘dining room’ is a 2 meter long trolley with some sandwiches on it

If you are DM (or traveling First Class), at check-in tell the agent you would like an escort through security. They will assign a staff that walks you up the priority line to go through ID security, and then escort you to use the First/Business Class line for baggage security line.

Are BA dragons finally allowing CX DMs to use their lounge now at T5? When I flew out ORD quite often I was denied 3 times, I stopped trying after the third time. (Each time the answer was: you have your own lounge, we are over capacity; the lounge was quite empty each time I asked)

Currently the BA lounge is CX's "own lounge" at ORD. Many other posts in this thread confirm this, including the post just above yours.

Yes. As noted above the designated CX lounge is the BA lounge.

Cathay Pacific – Chicago (ORD) Lounge

Was asked to go to the BA F lounge, without asking, back in March...

So for BE passengers at ORD, are they also able to use the BA lounge, or just F passengers. Is there a distinction bewteen an F lounge and BE lounge. Sorry for asking I'm new to CX, coming over from DL, where it's one size fits all for their SkyClubs.

What is BE? I'm sorry, I don't know that acronym.

There are two BA lounges at ORD, one for business class (windowless and cramped) and one for first class (windows, but even more cramped).

Yes, you can access the Flagship lounge in Terminal 3 with a 5 hour layover. Plenty of time to stop in before you head over to T5. Beware however it's at the very far end of K. So it will be a LONG walk to the front of the terminal to access the train over to T-5. Note too the Flagship lounge closes at 9:45pm so you can hang out there for a couple of hours before heading to either Admirals club for a bit or directly to T-5.

Sorry, BE in the DL forum stands for Business Elite, as DL has no F on its international flights., just Y, EC(Economy Cimfort), and Business Elite.

So it sounds like the BA lounge is nothing special at ORD for business class passengers, may be I should just hang out at the AA club in T3 until it's time to depart for HKG on CX in Business Class. I suppose I could also use the DL SkyClub as I'm a member there also.

I just flew CX F ORD-HKG last week. They never offered this, which really speaks to what I believe is the major shortcoming of CX: they will accommodate you if you are demanding, but they really fall short if you wait for them to offer things.

Yikes, sorry, just read my post and realized "demanding" was a poor choice of words. Sorry. What I meant to say is that you really need to ask for things with CX. And when you do, I'm told they respond well. But otherwise you are largely ignored.

Are you a DM or flew first class? I didn't realized they offer this until, well, they OFFERED it to me when I checked-in. Now, I haven't fly out of ORD since EWR was launched, but they were pretty aggressive offering this service when I used to fly out of ORD.

In fact, I fly out of ORD tomorrow, will see what happens when I go to the First Class counter.
