Well, I lined up at F counter line but the Y line was empty so I was waved over to Y line. Got there and re-checked-in, they printed me a new BP, confirmed my luggage tags, printed me BA F lounge invitation. They still couldn't (nor know) that there's a CX lounge called "Arrival" that all arriving pax into HKG with DM, GO, F, J can use. She kept telling me "only transit pax gets lounge invitation", I said, "No, Arrival Lounge, there's a lounge called Arrival lounge", She said, "No sir, no arrival, only transit", gave up.

BA F lounge is even more pathetic than JFK BA F lounge. It's a bit bigger than the old Swiss F lounge, selections of foods and drinks just as pathetic as JFK. Nothing to really praise about except the CX lounge attendant was very cheerful.

Cathay Pacific – Chicago (ORD) Lounge

Am I safe to assume that you're pretty much screwed if you're taking the midnight flight from ORD to HKG even when flying F?

I'll be doing this route soon enough. A few questions for you: Did you ask for or were you offered an escort through security, or wasn't it busy enough to bother? Did they let you into the BA First Dining Room in the business lounge? And what were the food offerings in the lounge?

This time I wasn't offered the escort and I had to asked, but as soon as I asked they gave me an escort. I arrived at 2 p.m. ORD and the security line is LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. I am very glad CX offers this escort services because it would of been easily 30-40 minutes wait by my calculations how long the lines were.

I didn't try the BA J lounge so didn't even know there's a BA First Dining Room. But my experience at JFK and EWR is that those are reserved for BA First class only, not CX DM/OWE.

Food offering in BA F lounge: a pot of soup, fruits, bunch of different kinds of cookies, cheeses, sodas, alcohol, tea, coffee. Nothing exciting.

Any updates on accessing BA First Dining Room flying F on Cathay?

I'll be flying Cathay F next week. Not looking forward to the disappointing lounge especially after attending Qantas First Class lounge in LAX back in February

Cathay Pacific – Chicago (ORD) Lounge

I took the midnight flight between ORD & HKG. They stuck all passengers in the business lounge, which was overcrowded. There wasn't a single place where to sit; even then, some sections were closed off. I had to request the staff to open sections to sit the remaining passengers

Flying CX ORD-HKG in Business class tomorrow, so should have BA Biz lounge access. I also have AA lounge access, Premier Pass (Swissport Lounge & Air France/KLM Lounge). Will be at ORD from 6AM-2PM. Where is the best place to hang out?

5 hour layover in ORD

I've got a 5 hour layover in ORD before CX807 in F next week. Is the BA F lounge the best spot? Or somewhere else? I also have Priority Pass.

By layover, are you connecting from T1/2/3? If so, the AA FL lounge in T3 is better than the BA F lounge. AA FL apparently upped its game on food and booze recently, and the lounge is normally quiet too. Don't stay there too long however, because T5 security can be atrocious (you can get an escort tho apparently if in F - never tried/been)

In T5 the PP lounge is the AF/KLM lounge which also suck. The BA F lounge is a joke (or at least when it's serviced for 807). The J lounge is a bit more spacious (can be crowded too) but comes at the cost of no views. Food is a bit more stocked but still minimal.

In short the ORD lounge situation is sad. We can only look at LAX and be jelly

+1

When I fly F out of ORD, I still use the J lounge. The F lounge is awkward, very small.

The AA admirals club in T3 is much nicer.

Is it possible to use the BA J lounge showers before a CX departure? I'm in CX first and would like to clean up before the 16-hour flight. If not I'll try and get a shower spot in T3 before changing terminals.
