Upgrade on CX using AA miles
I was told by AA customer service that I could not upgrade on a CX flight using AA miles. Is that correct? Or would I get a different answer if I called CX?
Further question AA has special customer service numbers for its Platinum (sapphire) and Exec Platinum (Emerald) levels. I presume other OW airlines do as well. As an AA EP (which I will be atthe end of this trip) can I use other other OW Emerald customer service lines if I am travelling on their metal?
Thanks
Hamilton Guy

You can only use AA miles to upgrade AA flights operated by AA metal. AA codeshares operated by other carriers ie CX do not apply! Whereas if you have Asiamiles, you can use them to upgrade CX, KA, BA and AA flights !

CX has only one MPC number for all MPC members. There are no special numbers for elites, but calls are prioritised according to tier levels. However, the number is for MPC members only.

As a AA frequent flyer member, your account is with AA. CX will honor your AA status when you show them your elite AA card, but they cannot access your AA account over the phone. All your frequently flyer requests, awards, upgrades, must go through AA.@:-)
