Asia miles converted to BA Avios

Hi All, On our up coming booking that is now booked from Man to BKK , We are due to earn 6600 Asia miles each , So 13200 Asia miles in total flying in S Class. Once checked in , We will change the frequent flyer from Asia miles to BA and we will be given Avios points , Can anyone tell me if we will get the same amount of Avios points at 12300 or less. I noted that when flying with BA i earned less Avios than flying with Qatar .

Thank you for any help .

PS , I like the following link to see what entertainment you get on board https://entertainment.cathaypacific.com

Not necessarily. It depends on the rules of the programme to which you are crediting. BA should display them on their programme information. A convenient rough guide (though I find that the information is not always accurate) is wheretocredit.com.
For your future information, you mention the variable of who operates the flight. Often that is the same airline that markets it (but not always - think of a codeshare as an example) and that can also be a variable in some cases.

You keep asking a rather similar question in another thread.
WHy don't you simply check on BA website how many avios you get on the partner CX with a S class ticket to HKG?
You cannot directly compare a number of avios or miles as the earnings you can get from those are different.
And remember that on BA you can do family pooling while you cant on CX. You won't go very far with only 6,600 AM in CX program.

Thanks for your reply, the reason for asking the question is because it's not possible to find the answer on the BA website and each company refers you to opposite company, Cathy, please refer to BA and BA please refer to Cathy, we have a total of 55,000 avios , I am just interested in how many avios points I will get from this booking when linking to BA. Will I get 13200 avios or will the amount be watered down?

If you visit https://www.britishairways.com/conte...-avios/flights and scroll down to the "Cathay Pacific" dropdown you'll see a full earnings table.
The percentage is of the miles for the flight distance(s). S class on Cathay is 25%.

Here's the table of how much you'd earn in each FFP on a paid CX flight in S class, if you're interested to know which program you should credit your flight to:

So that means 25% of the 13200 giving a total of 3300 avios ?

Not true. You seem to have a fundamental lack of knowledge of ffp's.
If crediting to an airline ffp look at that airlines ffp web site. What another ffp would credit for the same flight is totally irrelevant.
Earning and burning ff miles/avios/point is not the same for different ffp's They are not (always)1:1
In Oneworld earning are based on the marked flight (flight number) when an eligible operator and fare class (a letter)

CX forum 22June 2025 Avios
QR forum 22 June 2025 Avios miles transferred from Cathay to Qatar
I have recently signed up to Cathay Pacific website and with Cathay and Qatar being part of One world , I believe there is a opportunity to transfer the Asia Miles to Avios miles.

As anyone tried to transfer Cathay miles to Qatar, I have added my Qatar FF details on the Cathay membership page . It all sounds confusing

I have just had a Chat with Cathay who say the following
(Cathay) If a Cathay membership account has been added to the booking, Asia Miles will be credited accordingly. For any other frequent flyer programs, please contact the respective airline to confirm their mileage crediting policies. If a Cathay membership account has been added to the booking, Asia Miles will be credited accordingly. For any other frequent flyer programs, please contact the respective airline to confirm their mileage crediting policies.
(ME) So If i earn 10,000 Asia miles , Do i then ask Qatar to change then to Avios ?
(Cathay)Not quite—Asia Miles and Avios are separate loyalty currencies, and they aren’t directly interchangeable between Cathay (Asia Miles) and Qatar Airways (Avios), even though both are part of the Oneworld alliance. We recommend reaching out directly to Qatar Airways for further assistance. Due to our frequent flyer programs is different

It's simple stuff mate. Forget 13,200. Figure out the miles flown on your flights which sounds like MAN-HKG, HKG-BKK and reverse. Great Circle Mapper or similar will help you. Then multiply by 25% as per the BA website earnings table for Cathay flights in your travel class (S).

Also, just to be clear, you can only earn miles on one programme for each flight. Your original post seems to suggest that you think you can get both AsiaMiles and Avios for the same flight. You can't.

Actually, you can calculate everything at https://www.britishairways.com/trave...r/public/en_gb. If your routing is MAN-HKG-BKK-HKG-MAN, it is 2*(1499+266)=3530 Avios per person.
