New Diamond Exec (DX) and Diamond Plus (DMP) is official public announced

Changes to membership year calculation

Removed mid-status benefits for GO and DM

Introduce new tier progression method

Status Points rollover for GO and above

Seems quite like what was asked in previous survey

Wow, amazing! The whole thing seems pretty awesome from my perspective.

And we can gift a DM! That's great too.

It's definitely smart. I'll no doubt be throwing more revenue to CX to hit 2400 instead of 1800.

I wonder if the on board experience will be differentiated DM vs DM Exec now.

From my perspective, just diluting the benefits above 1200SP.
The DM Exec offering is meh...I perfectly enjoy walking in HKIA T1.

Among smaller changed, so they've dropped buggy service for regular DMs, but from 2027 DMEs will get buggy + a companion (which is finally useful, since it's kinda pointless if traveling w others). Seems sensible.

DMs also losing the F upgrade privilege but getting auto 2 to begin with. Whereas DMEs get the 4 regular old style DM coupons.

I hope they revert to make these DME upgrade coupons good to use for A fare now! Instead of the game they turned it into now.

I'm pretty sure this is a big upgrade for myself, although I will need to be a bit more loyal to CX than present (I currently stop around 1800, now will be 2400 I think), seems worth it. Glad they spelled these out too.

Just hope they don't diminish the regular DM experience on board for those who don't go above 1200. dM has been such a great calling card for CX, underappreciated but remarkable.

And DM reserve, awesome!!! I'm approaching 20 years consecutive well over the points minimum every year (although it seems only the last 10 years will count). This is like moving towards lifetime DM right

wonder what will happen to the people who are on GD/DM who are currently on membership holiday till at least 2026

to clarify, the DM (every 6,000 SPs) cannot be gifted
(think of it as giving you a free 12 month DM (at any time of your choice) after you’ve retired)

So they have sort of acknowledged the existence of DM plus, qualifying based on annual spend, so is that still the top 1% or some other threshold at their discretion, and does DM invitation still exist or did that get rolled into DM plus?

Thanks, I just caught that on the second read. It's more like lifetime DM hybrid right (for the holder). Just not as good as lifetime.

Does it mean it doesn’t make sense to upgrade in 2026?

I am currently planning to hit gold by April 2026. That would lead me to April 2027? But the website said that my status in Jan 2027 will be dependent on my SP in the calendar year of 2026?

would I be shortchanged?

Pretty sure it means if you gain a total of 600 status points in 2026, you'll get it from Apr 2026 to Dec 2027.

my upcoming flights in October and November will bring to 560 points. Unless I do a retro credit

this is not my understanding
"No. Memberships will not be extended. All memberships currently set to end in 2027 will instead end on 31 December 2026. This will allow for the transition of all members to the new standardised membership cycle starting on 1 January 2027.

All dates are in Hong Kong Time."

not sure how retro credits would apply in this situation, if it counts flying date or crediting date. would leave this quesiton for someone more experienced than me to answer

“When your membership renews or changes in 2026 under the existing membership programme rules, whatever status you hold at that point will be valid until 31 December 2026.

On 1 January 2027, your membership status will be determined by the Status Points you have earned from 1 January – 31 December 2026, based on the new requirements of the membership programme.”

My membership will turn to silver starting in November 2025 until October 2026.

I have an upcoming flight on QR that will earn me a decent amount of status points (170) in November/December 2025 so I think I should do the retrocredit in January 2026 so that it counts (hopefully) as status points earned in 2026 and towards my 2027 membership.
