BIG ISSUE - Asiamiles Oneworld ticket rules change??? Immediate effect???
BIG ISSUE - Asiamiles Oneworld ticket rules change???
I just realised that CX website just added a term in the Flight Awards – oneworld Multi-carrier Awards JUST NOW a few hours ago.
Stopover/Open-jaw is permitted once for one city in the itinerary, and cannot be the same city of the point of origin or point of destination.
That means if you start the ticket in HKG, you can't pass through HKG anymore, then the Three long hauls tickets will no longer be issue-able?
Itin like this is no longer available?
HKG - HND
HND - HKG
HKD - JFK
ORD - HKG
HKG - LHR
LHR HEL HKG (BA + AY)
Immediate Effect? End of one-world redemption?

Well it was rumoured...
Rumoured no more backtracking with AM RTW awards.
Isn’t this more a reinstatement of pre-Covid rule, rather than “new” rule https://www.facebook.com/groups/flya...ibextid=S66gvF ?

Changes against Cathay Membership Terms and Conditions in underline:
Flight Awards – oneworld Multi-carrier Awards
- A oneworld Multi-carrier Award is applicable for:
a. two oneworld Alliance airlines, when Cathay Pacific is not one of your selected carriers; or
b. three or more oneworld Alliance airlines, when Cathay Pacific is one of your selected carriers. - The maximum distance range is up to 50,000 miles.
- To redeem a oneworld Multi-carrier Award, the total Asia Miles required to determine the award zone is the sum of the sector distance (between the origin airports and destination airports) of all sectors in the itinerary. The Member or Nominee can make a maximum of five stopovers. In addition, two transfers and two open-jaws are permitted.
- Stopover/Open-jaw is permitted once for one city in the itinerary, and cannot be the same city of the point of origin or point of destination.
- For multiple-sector Flight Awards, the Asia Miles required to redeem such Flight Award are those of the highest class booked in any single itinerary.
- An oneworld Multi-carrier Award does not offer travelling on Premium Economy Class.

Given how good they are doing on their lf s expected them reinforcing it soon. Still doable if you use transit and add tail legs from separate ticket. But probably not worth it for those that do intra Asia returns
