Yes, thank you, that is what I did in the end. Called MPC again and after explaining what I wanted to happen (i.e. use M. Holiday #2 to extend to end August 2021, retain 945 C.P. and travel Sep 2021 to then reach Diamond), they conceded that this option would be best in my case. They did clarify that if my holiday had lapsed by end Feb, and my "year" ended April 2021 without any add'l travel, then the automatic extension would indeed wipe out my C.P.s back to Zero. Yes, am also aware that I'd have one last Membership Holiday left, but after 27 years as MPO GO, just want to enjoy my last active year as DIA and I can slow down thereafter. It was a good run!

CX renewing all membership expiring in 2021
https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_...HLsm-az-6MbjVs
With the launch of our automatic tier renewal scheme in April 2020, we committed to renewing all memberships that expire between May 2020 and April 2021 – and reissuing all unused mid-tier benefits that expire during the same time period – for another 12 months.
We are now extending that scheme through 2021, so that all memberships and unused mid-tier benefits expiring in 2021 will be renewed or reissued. Although new approaches to keep us safe are being rolled out, we know it could still be some time before COVID-19 is brought under control and normal travel resumes. When it does, we want our members to continue flying with the status they have earned.

If my membership expires in early 2022, will my status be renewed?
We are closely monitoring the situation and will announce changes for 2022 by the last quarter of 2021.

Well, it's too late now for many of us to maintain status even if Covid, travel & quarantine restrictions disappeared overnight tonight
So to NOT extend for another 12 months would basically lead to a bigger exodus than when they changed from miles to points a few years back

My status was also automatically renewed, but my mid-tier benefits this time were not. Does anyone else have the same experience? Does calling and asking for reinstatement work?
Thanks in advance.

Hello CX, it's already the last quarter, past a month already.
