Anyone knows if a paywave with signature counts for the 5x bonus for the CCB eye card?

i.e. I paywave / tap say HK$10,000. obviously this is above limit so you need to get a signature. but this should still code as a paywave transaction to get 5x bonus pts?

Physically impossible to paywave a $10,000 transaction. Cashier will be forced to fallback to chip, and you will be credited with 1x only for $10,000 purchase.

Try using Apple Pay. Apple Pay doesn't have the $1,000 payment limit and earns 5x https://forum.hongkongcard.com/forum...w/23833?page=2 #26

Each % = $10/AM

vs is 3.6%
premier without 6x reward of your choice is 4.4%
vs itself has a 1.2% bonus that wont carry to premier

Great -- didn't realise it was $75k (got an application pending for this card, since mid-December).

But to confirm -- the earn rate for Apple Pay transactions is the same as for payWave transactions?

percysmith Feb 13, 2019 2:22 am

Last time I bought with Eye on Apple Pay in July yes.

400 free RC

The HSBC contactless payment promo is back: 400 RC extra for $8000 of contactless spend during March & April. Registration required. https://www.redhotoffers.hsbc.com.hk...ent-promotion/
Also up to 400 RC for spending at Fortress (a marginally better deal than the one that just finished on Citi cards).

Alas Fortress excluded from the contactless promo so no double dipping.

So I wonder - did Alipay HKE consistently earn $4/AM on SCB?

Answer is yes.
Also Towngas added as a new bill payment payee

Pertinent as ICBC Horoscope on the cash rebate end is ending their 1.5% cash rebate on internet banking bill payment w.e.f. 6 May 19

So, just to confirm, using Stan Chart to pay HKE (and now Towngas) via Alipay at HK$4=1AM is still okay, despite Stan Chart's recent change to their rules about Alipay top-ups?
