A350-1000 - General Discussion

Does anyone have any updates on CX's delivery status for A350-1000? I haven't talked to Airbus for months, but the last time we spoke they seemed confident in an April delivery.

Yet I don't think B-LXA has actually even taken to the air yet in Toulouse?

It looks like June 20 is the delivery date.

I've broken out a thread for A350-1000 specific discussions as this aircraft is almost with us.

Should we add a wiki for what we know are facts, and what are speculative?

Facts on top of my head (and please correct if wrong):
- The two long haul ports that will feature 351 already on sale are IAD and TLV.
- First flight is Aug 1st to MNL and TPE(?)
- Y seats will be made in-house by HAECO
(not sure how important) 11DG will remain
- CX converted orders last year so instead of 20 359 + 26 351, the last 6 351 orders will now be additional 359s instead for a total of 26+20.

Unconfirmed/I need verification:
- SYD will be the 3rd port
- They are expecting 5 instead of 6 deliveries now for this year.
- Door 2 galley will be used for PEY/Y unlike its useless state on the A35G now

There was a rumor last year that EWR would get the 350-1000. Is this true or are they staying with the 350-900 on that route?

..they've got the wrong picture though. That pic is an A350-900, not -1000.

If you mean the feature pic atop the article - yep, it’s an A350-900 because we don’t have any decent A350-1000 pics available to suit that size & shape - not the biggest problem in the world

Arrival into HKG will be mid-morning on Wed June 20 - should soon know the flight number for those who are into tracking delivery flights.

My wife and I have a flights booked from EWR > HKG > MNL on Aug 4. Our itineraries still show 359 on EWR leg, but MNL leg now shows 351.

EWR route is 359 for sure, because it was just switched from 77W last Oct.

I also have a HKG - MNL leg later this year with 333 as of now. Fingers crossed for AC swap!

For EWR, there is a virtually 0pct chance that will swap to A351 in 2018. You will be on A359.

For MNL, congratulations. CX will have at least one, perhaps two A351s in the fleet by then and MNL is one of two or three regional destinations to see that plane before longhaul ops commences.

First longhaul ops for A351 will unequivocally be IAD in September.
