It is a big question how long EY will stay independent, given their previous failed expansive plans and the upcoming law suite regarding the dropping of Air Berlin.

Etihad has an alliance of its own with multiple partners. Some of those still present good redemption value.
P. S. Surprised to see such opinion about CRK from a person living in Manila. CRK airport is horrible. While MNL isn't great, IMO there is no comparison. The only time I would prefer flying to/from CRK is when I specifically go to Angeles skipping Manila.

Etihad is definitely not an option to store miles, they have a nasty habit of sudden devaluations without any notice. Only earn and burn.
