By the way, can anyone confirm that Rosewood menu's main dish is changed from prawn to chicken?

yes both new. Kung Po i tried, its not bad but lacks wow factor. also together with Sichuan fish they basically got 2 spicy dish.

BBQ pork rice.. well its like getting basic spagetti bolgonese on the menu. staple normality, i didnt bother. unless someone tells me its a legendary menu.

when i say boring i am comparing to both pre covid, and immediately after reopening Haven menu were delightful surprise. today, err.. no

Wow - as if the menu couldn't get any worse...!

All of this sounds terrible - have they completely given up?

Yes. And the chicken soup is delicious. I still found the entire Rosewood collaboration menu underwhelming at the Pier F. Wonder if there will be a new one in July?

Rosewood collaboration menu for June 2024

Also, for all purposes, the Pier and the Wing F have the same menu for breakfast before 11am. There really isn't a reason to trek all the way to Gate 63 if you have a morning flight

Rosewood Set Menu

The main course of Rosewood Hong Kong set menu was steamed chicken on a bamboo steamer. The presentation is quite unusual and I thought it was an appetizer, but it was the main. Surprisingly, the taste is much better than the look.

Salon was good, worth of trying. The female manager was super friendly.

Believe the main was switched to steamed chicken only recently. On 17 June, it was still the tempura prawn.

Not sure if she’s the manager… but there was a Filipina server who intently went around to different patrons asking for feedback on the food… frankly in a rather “intrusive” manner, standing awkwardly and “expectantly” until answers were given to her question… when I was halfway eating my meal and all I wanted was just to be left alone to do so.

She simply couldn’t read subtleties at all.

July dinner menus

Hi, does anyone have a photo of the July dinner menus by any chance?

July 2024 CX The Wing - Dinner Menu

I attached a photo of the dinner menu from The Wing F! I did not get a photo of the alcohol menu, as I usually am a tea / Cathay delight / simple champagne person 😅

Based off what I saw in the previous posts, the items don’t seem to change much…

On a side note, I had thought the Sichuan hot and sour fish would have been a bit more numbing, but it was bearable, to my disappointment haha.

Thanks for that! I don’t know why I was hoping for something more exciting. Pretty disappointing.

you are right to feel that

this is menu from 2017 oct. so what 7yrs ago you can see how much CX cheapened even their fare only went up. Look at the elegance and selection. yes those were days when CX actually was great.

Can't see much difference except grouper is more expensive than salmon. Btw 2017 should be a generally acknowledged low point re inflight catering & amenities. Really can't say it was "great" back then, at least in my own experience 2024 is definitely better.

July 2024 CX The Pier First - Dinner Menu

https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...c72801026.jpeg

Appreciate that it’s getting towards the end of July, but thought I would post this to follow up the earlier discussion re: the lack of month-on-month change in the menus (the July menu looks identical to the June one :)).

My 11-year old daughter was very happy with her cheeseburger (proving she can tolerate Gruyère) and fries, though my wonton noodles were identical (in presentation and taste) to the noodles I had earlier in Pier J which was a little disappointing.

Unfortunately, all meat dishes were overcooked. The burger was dry (maccies quality), and the chicken was bland (Nandos is a million times better).
