Kudos for serving Amour de Deutz 2009 in the lounge, that's definitely an upgrade.
I wonder if they'll be serving it on-board in F as well (it used to be one of the Krug replacements for CX).

I ordered the chicken congee and the mixed dim sum basket which were both good, although the new waiter had to be prompted to bring the latter - service was certainly far less polished than pre-pandemic, something which continued on more recent visits in December and April this year.

The LHR 1st lounge has always been very good

There was an additional special menu set available at Pier F last week (on top of the existing usual menu).

The panettone was quite the decadent addition to my breakfast, although was slightly stale at the edges.

My prelude to dinner was an espresso martini from the bar - complete with buzzer for the massage service. The massage service is operated by THIA Wellness Spa, with complimentary 15-minute options including a foot reflex massage, head massage, neck and shoulders massage or eye revitaliser.

I opted to try the new Rosewood set menu, starting with the organic Italian chickpeas velouté.

As is often the case in the Dining Room, the dessert of mascarpone mousse was tiny, but flavoursome.

Service was attentive and professional throughout, and I was actively encouraged to eat much more than I wanted to.

When I first fully reviewed this lounge in 2019 (see my report here) I neglected to take a look at the showers, so here (in the catering thread of all places) are some shots of one of the excellently appointed shower suites - much larger than what you'll find at The Pier Business Class and including a handy chair and the pleasant Bamford amenities (which are also in the washrooms).

The pan seared Atlantic salmon was great, but I wish there were some side options beyond rice. I guess in the future I could customise by requesting the fries from the burger, for example.

Given the minuscule portion size of the salmon, I also went for the Sichuan eggplant - this was bursting with flavour.

Superb food and service in Pier F, superb food in LHR but service a bit lacking. I'll try to post the dishes I had if I get the energy/time to do so.
