Any ideas of whether A330-300 (33E, 33K and 33P) will be updated to the A350 style IFE?

The first 5 leased 777-300ERs will go first which are B-KPB, B-KPC, B-KPG, B-KPH and B-KPJ.
B-KPD and B-KPE are planes that aren't leased.

Looking at flying LON-BNE/MEL-LON in Feb/Mar next year. One HKG-BNE is an A350 as is the Lon sector if I go from Gatwick, but coming back from Mel,f I take the preferred night flight I've got 777's on both legs. Are there any fixed dates from when these go 10 abreast? There is an option of the A350 on both legs, but it's an early AM arrival that I'm not fond of, especially if I have to negotiate peak hour trains and tubes upon landing!

Just an aside, If I fly back to Brisbane from Melbourne on the same day, would they interline my bags if its on the same CX ticket?

No, there is no way of knowing whether you'll have a 9 or 10 across 777. CX is reconfigging their entire B77W fleet with 10 abreast in Y class. As of now, I believe 6 out of 53 planes are reconfigured, and it's happening at a rapid clip...I'd expect perhaps 15+ birds to be reconfigured by the time of your flight next year.

Fyi the only "bookable" difference is between 77G/77K (call this "3 class 77W") and 77H/77A (call this "4 class 77W"). The 3 class 77W vs 4 class 77W is predictable; CX sees the subfleets this way. Obviously, the 4 class has F and considerably more J seats, so this is a pretty significant difference. But CX doesn't seem to distinguish 10 abreast economy as another subfleet. For example, CX257 morning departure HKG-LHR is always rostered as a 3 class 77W, aka 77G or 77K. Whereas CX251 HKG-LHR is always would be 4 class 77W, aka 77H or 77A. But using CX257/251 as an example, whether you can pick 77K/77G, or 77H/77A, this is not possible for now.

It's not possible because CX rotates their B77Ws through all their destinations, while maintaining the 3 class/4 class subfleet integrity. This situation could change, but as of now this is how CX does it.

You can follow along here Cathay Pacific / Cathay Dragon Fleet, Route and Configuration Guide. We keep all the registrations there, configurations, and it is updated pretty regularly. Not real time...but close. Updates are usually made within days of changes happening.

772Z/HNB has no flights after 25 July, is she retired or just having checks? Rumours stated that HNB will retire in Summer.

As of now, B-KPA, B-KPH, B-KPI, B-KPM, B-KPN, B-KPV, and B-KQM has updated with A350 style IFE. But it hasn't highlighted in pink, as I mention.

B-KQZ went to XMN on Jul 27. The aircraft will be painted in new livery and will be re-configured into 77K configuration. (3-4-3 economy)
