Just noticed that the promotion period started yesterday and that it is on a first come first served basis. Pity I didn't receive the E mail until 45 minutes ago.......

As far as I understand, any location goes.

The total value of this "sweet offer" is approx. 31K HKD and, based on November's figures, could be enjoyed by 0.0089% of CX (&KA's) ~1.400.000 Ex-HKG PAX.

Never had an agnes.b coffee though, maybe they are really good?

Ignorable, brain-less, heart-less and pointless promotion.... I don't think this "promotion" can generate any extra business...

$31k?!?

Most of their drinks are in the $45 range, or around $30 for basic coffee. Then another ~$40 for cake. Maybe a value of hkd $75 at most.

Meant the total promotion: Never having been to agnes.b I valued a coffee & cake at 50 HKD, thus (25x50)+(50x200)+(50x400)=31.250 HKD

This reminds me of those special edition Fan Fares. Everyone goes nuts when there's a $100 PE fare to Paris until they realize the quantity on offer is approximately 5.

How incredibly generous of CX. They sure know how to capture the imagination of the travel market (especially those looking to book in Y).

I have a mental picture of some newbie airhead in the marketing department thinking up the idea, and initially allocating the amazing coffee + mini cake award to the first ten bookings.

But ...fortunately ..... just before the whole promo was signed off, someone higher up the corporate pecking order, someone more worldly-wise & business-savvy must have stepped in and boldly declared "hey, let's give this a real big push, we'll blow the budget and make it twenty five....."

You can't help but wonder if they've ever heard of the concept of consumer focus groups.....

LOLOL!

When I saw the email yesterday, I kinda asked myself how long would it take for someone to start an FT thread on this.

One person's romantic destination may not be that of another. Dhaka or Jakarta, anyone?

I think it's the same people who run their website.
