Wonder what made CX swing the pendulum too far, requiring OTP for redemptions for instance. Have there been many fraudulent redemptions in recent years?
Some banks require symbols too, but the character set accepted by CX is very limited... even '_' is not there.

The website is acting up right now, but I was able to switch to a complex password.

I'm glad they made this change.

This is absolutely ridiculous--like an 8th grade computer science project. I am all for strong passwords and typically use one or two very complex ones but I like to be able to memorize them. If CX wants a special character included that's OK with me but let me chose any special character(s)--not limited to just a very few that I typically do not use. And bouncing back and forth between character sets on a smartphone is a true pain in the a**s. So now I will have to devise a new one totally unique to CX. Shame on their infantile IT staff.

Can anyone log into their accounts today? I tried a dozen times over the past hour, and it tells me my password is incorrect. Note - I could still access yesterday.

Sigh ... still no go .. so ended up resetting the password, and was given "Your new password is identical to the old password" ... so it means that despite entering it correctly (I even typed it into notepad to ensure I had caps lock off, etc), the system tells me it is wrong.

I have the same experience. I changed my password yesterday, and now I can't login using the new password... CX is really getting everything wrong...

+1.

Luckily the second password I came up with worked.

I always need to reset my password in order to login successfully. This change with alphanumberic password doesnt resolve the weak IT support team of CX.

I like this change. But what I don't like is that they do not accept @ as a special character. Why not just use a common standard?
I hope you're not using your email address as password

I think the reason they don't allow the '@' character is so people don't try to use their email as a password. I've been this way too often.
