This password security thingy that requires the use of not just alpha numeric but also SYMBOLS is frankly a bit of an overkill.
Even banks' online banking don't require symbols!
Wonder what made CX swing the pendulum too far, requiring OTP for redemptions for instance. Have there been many fraudulent redemptions in recent years?

This is absolutely ridiculous--like an 8th grade computer science project. I am all for strong passwords and typically use one or two very complex ones but I like to be able to memorize them. If CX wants a special character included that's OK with me but let me chose any special character(s)--not limited to just a very few that I typically do not use. And bouncing back and forth between character sets on a smartphone is a true pain in the a**s. So now I will have to devise a new one totally unique to CX. Shame on their infantile IT staff.

Sigh ... still no go .. so ended up resetting the password, and was given "Your new password is identical to the old password" ... so it means that despite entering it correctly (I even typed it into notepad to ensure I had caps lock off, etc), the system tells me it is wrong.

Luckily the second password I came up with worked.
