I'm currently holding a PEY (R), just curious on what my chances are for my waitlist clearing.

This loading looks good to me despite the 0s. Call 3888 and use the buzzword!

I figure my chances might have gotten better due to my wife needing to delay her flight. So now it's just 1 waitlist that needs to clear instead of 2.
Edit: forgot to mention my waitlist will end Dec 13th at 8:00pm. Just wondering if there anything I can do to 'push' this along.

I am currently booked on 20/12/2018 CX527 NRT-HKG on PEY standard award for 4 people, and I was put on waitlist CX521 PEY on the same day for a later departure (The availability is shown as attached). Without any MPC members, anyone knows if I have any chance the waitlist would be cleared? Thanks!

Not sure if theres a problem with expertflyer/cx or it just reflects the inventory

Not yet. I have tried waitlisting F for one flight in Standard award (which ended few days ago) and both flights in Choice award (which will end soon).
The 1st one didn't clear and the latter 2 are still on waitlisting.
Have tried searching F award flights again for these 2 flights and both award options are still for waitlisting only as usual.
By now, only the J booking on 883 is confirmed.

So I guess the buzzword doesn't work in english on the 3888 number. Have tried about 3 times already.
Looks like some (I) tickets have freed up on my flight.

My waitlist expires tomorrow evening. I think this is the closest to the deadline I've been on any upgrades.
Does the system tend to wait last minute before confirming or is it luck of the draw?

In NOV, after my upgrade request lapsed on the waitlist, MPC agent told me to call every day until flight to request upgrade award. I don't know the buzzword either but no award issued until instant upgrade.
Good luck.

I'm looking to book a one-way award in J on CX using Asia Miles for two people HKG-EWR/JFK Jan 2, 3, 4, or 5. There's no current availability at the standard level. We have no status. Ideally we'd book with AS miles, but that seems unlikely so we'd probably transfer MR from Amex to AM once there's availability. I must get my spouse back on one of those dates. I'm a bit more flexible. We'll travel in Y if we have to (or F!), but would prefer J. We can book as late as a day before departure if necessary. Thanks in advance!
- Is there a limit to the number of waitlists I can do?
- What are the advantages/disadvantages of waitlisting an award for two vs. waitlisting an award for me and separately waitlisting an award for her?
- If waitlisting an award for me and her separately, is there any advantage to waitlisting each of us from our respective AM accounts vs. from one of our AM accounts?
- What would you do?

Wouldn't be surprised if you don't clear waitlist. Since June 22 I've been in the same position ex-HKG for flights back to NYC, but I'm only GO. I think CX is more willing to roll the dice for late booking revenue PAX, hence the increased availability of I tickets. I feel lucky to have been confirmed for a upgrade last month when I booked, HKG-EWR but on DEC 19, mid week. Last few trips was not able to confirm upgrade on return ex-HKG to NYC but was able to do instant upgrade at the airport.
In NOV, after my upgrade request lapsed on the waitlist, MPC agent told me to call every day until flight to request upgrade award. I don't know the buzzword either but no award issued until instant upgrade.

EF still shows at least 3 J seats available and when I did a mock booking I was able to proceed with 4 seats for J.
I also still have the option to do an upgrade bid, but yet the last agent 15mins ago said that business class is completely full lol. I don't get it...
Eugh... looks like the constant re-dailing to 3888 will begin tonight lol.

No I called 3888 to get the agent to check on my existing waitlist and she told me my chances are almost zero because she doesn't see any seats for sale in business. But EF and cathaypacific.com say otherwise.
