Using "Flexible travel dates (+/- 3 days)", all classes on and all dates within a week are searched and displayed. You can even try Priority Awards Tier 1 and 2 if you want to; unfortunately, nothing more there over Standard Awards. I wonder if anyone here can help me check loading on CX250/256/254 for 29th July. Thanks again! |

25 USD/1,000 AM if you can rebook it online 40 USD/4,000 AM if you rebook by phone (even if you cannot do so online due to CX's system failure) Scenario 2: cannot reroute (reissue) part-flown tickets HKG-NYC (confirmed) NYC-Vancouver (confirmed) Vancouver-HKG -(wait list) I will ticket a random available date and then fingers crossed a few days before the date i actually need, award space gets opened up and then i can change it for 25USD. |
Extended Waistlist
Hi,
Any advice please ..... I just extended my wait list flights today for PE but only until 8 August, then if no confirmation yet, will extend again. What happens if I decide to ticket my inbound flight, which has been confirmed? Or is it best to keep on extending both outbound and inbound - it seems this could be a long wait? First time redeeming seats so I'm learning as I go along...

Waitlist for inbound flight cancelled?
I was waitlisted for PE to J upgrade on a return flight (JFK-MEL via HKG). Outbound upgrade came through (yippee!) and was sitting tight waiting for my inbound upgrade. I decided to check my flight details online and noticed it no longer had the waitlist details, so I called MPC. They were able to process the HKG-JFK leg immediately and re-waitlisted me for the MEL-HKG leg, but is this typical? I've done this upgrade a handful of times before, each time I would still be waitlisted on the return flight rather than falling off completely. It looks like I was taken off the waitlist the day before my outbound flights which have been completed, but in the past these have always renewed until the day before the return flight (although the MPC agent said it's typically held for 4 days before the flight then it would be cancelled).
I suppose I'll be more diligent next time, I'm just fuming a little because I'm potentially losing out on an upgrade by not realizing I had fallen off the waitlist. (1st world problems, I know!!) |

I reissued a couple of SYD-HKG flights this weekend where my mate and I need very specific flights. Mine became available T-29 hours. My mate's T-6 (...) |

Companion
Waitlisted for an upcoming companion ticket, both ways. A few questions:
1. If outbound clears while return not yet available, can this be ticketed like a normal one way award with application for refund as others have described for normal awards? Each leg also has two segments (connect in HKG) but I only care about transpacific segment - is the reservation ticketable with only one segment confirmed? 2. Companion and I are both AA Plt (OW Sapphire). Any waitlist priority benefit to this? If so do I need to call to inform them? We have no status associated with our AM accounts. 3. Am I crazy to do this? Basically gambling on this clearing, risking having to buy an expensive last-minute ticket. Anyone with experience? Flights are relatively open, non-holiday timeframe, but desirable/convenient routing. |
I got 2x J seats waitlisted on MLE-HKG in February. In the meantime I have booked 2x PE seats on the same route using Avios as a back-up, so if the waitlist clears I'll just cancel the Avios booking.
Now, how likely are the waitlisted seats to clear and how far in advance will I know, roughly? Any way of expediting this process? I'm a lowly MP Green... |

My own tix cleared 30 hours before departure Of course to do that we had to have issued tickets - he was issued in PE and me in Y, then reissued to J 30 hours/6 hours before departure. |

J? 6 hours before departure (7 Aug SYD-HKG CX162). I landed on CX138 that day - I checked for my mate before my doors close in SYD (no seat) and there was seat when I landed. I reissued his tix at the HKG luggage belt.

No. Avios redemption tix must be cancelled 24 hours prior to departure.

MLE is nowhere as competitive as SYD I reckon unless it's CNY...

Our weekend SYD tix were double reissues - my mate was return PE and mine were return Y. The outbound J seats weren't available til 84 hours before departure either. It's repeated reissues like these or last minute competition with the EXP grAAbers/MVP Alaskans. |
