I have been waitlisted on ord HKG on 8-may for more than 3 months. I find dummy booking and see there are only few seats occupied in c.

I have given up and book BR instead.

Hi Percysmith and all.

Looks like this will be the first time I've never had an upgrade confirmed. My upgrade is about to expire March 28th 6:00pm HK Time. What's the best plan of action after it expires? Keep calling in or just hope at check in I can get an instant upgrade?

If it expires I'll end up letting go of the MNL to HKG upgrade as I really don't care about that one as it's more the longhaul I'm concerened about.

The question I have for everyone is can I do an instant upgrade for MNL to HKG and HKG to YVR from the Manila check in counter? Or can they only do the outgoing sector from Manila?

Just need to figure out whether the MNL counter can upgrade the HKG-YVR sector or if I should be running straight to the Cathay counter when I land.

I had several instances in the past few years where I got my J upgrade cleared within the final 24 to 55 hours. That can happen even with J availability as J3 C3 D1 I0 and somehow when I call in they have U class availability. I am just a lowly SL. This is on HKG-YYZ and YYZ-HKG.

Thanks for the feedback etkuo. I called in earlier this morning and the agent was able to extend my waitlist another day, so it'll expire on the 29th.

Hopefully I get the same luck as you.

Hallo, O learned and experienced Ones.

I seem to be having a lot more trouble confirming redemption upgrades to business and full redemption business seats to LHR over the last few months.

The problem has become acute in the last few weeks in particular when seeking a Thursday or Friday departure ex HKG, even when those are not public or school holiday weekends. It looks like they are simply waitlisting us when before they'd confirm a seat.

Something like 13 years a DM now, I am finding this very frustrating indeed. Logical argument with the agent on the MPC Diamond line, and waiting for them to "ask my supervisor" doesn't seem to bring much joy, either.

Has any other DM so suffered recently? Do you know of a recent tightening of revenue management in this way?

This change in service, whether just me or general, will obviously affect the way I look at DM as a valuable thing to have.....

Can someone please give me an idea if the possibility of getting my award flight is still likely?

13APR CX 315 HKG - MAD (waitlisted for PE)

We're two. One is MPC green, the other has no status and is just part of the other one's redemption group.

Our waitlist is expiring on the 10th, if it doesn't clear before that, will they be able to still extend it? Been waitlisted since June. Thanks so much!

It is: J0 C0 D0 I0 W5 R4 E2 Y6 B5 H0 K0 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0 O0. It looks bad. These are the days when HK Sevens ends and Easter holiday starts. There are probably many outbound passengers leaving HKG.

Thanks, cxfan1960!

Another question if you don't mind- I'm currently confirmed for MAD-HKG-MNL in Y but my PEY waitlist were cleared for all legs. Will the reissue fee be for each leg (so $200 or 20,000 AM) or for the entire booking (so just $100/10k AM)? Will I also be facing cancellation fees (of the original Y booking)? Or is it just the difference in miles + reissue fee/miles deduction?

Can I have this ticketed already or should I wait if ever the HKG-MAD outbound clears? Thanks, again!

I am currently on the waitlist for CX252/23JUL for J-class. I need to be back in HKG for 24 JUL morning and am wondering which EU ports may be easier to clear, and when should i reasonably expect the waitlist to clear? Thanks

percysmith Mar 31, 2017 12:00 am

BA139/CX660 (transit port BOM) immediately available. I don't know whether Monday 09:35 is early enough for you though.

On the day before there's a similar pair transit DEL. Seems like subcontinent's easiest.
