Only BA and RJ fly there.

Have BA started code sharing yet on this route?

I don't know. Perhaps there would be limited upside since QR has around five flights per day to London, and travelers can get to almost any BA destination in the Americas via a connection to AA or US at one of their gateways -- interestingly, QR does code-share with those carriers even though they don't fly to DOH -- and BA connections to Europe from DOH or points south and east of there would also be also limited due to the requirement to backtrack vs. QR's own extensive network in Europe.

BA seems to be a major competitor with QR on such routes, although of course BA was the sponsor of QR's entry into oneworld. I guess they figure, better to keep passengers in the alliance than to encourage them to fly LH/TK/AF/EK/etc. I suppose that's the big picture of the alliance.

Still, I am thrilled with CX's entry. If their J fares from DOH are anything like those from DXB/AUH, then it will provide a very attractive service (though CX fares from other GCC destinations are generally not at the same level). I have two trips from DXB to the U.S. coming up on CX J for around $3,000; if they match the fares from DOH, even better.

It should be noted that CX is the first east Asian airline to fly to DOH. Now we could use JL, though that would seem pretty exotic in light of the rest of their route network.

Especially considering JL would rather codeshare with EK than fly their own metal to DXB...

No other Oneworld/codeshare airlines get the Premium Terminal, so I doubt CX would be different on a CX flight number. What I'm not sure of is what happens if its a QR flight number on a CX aircraft (or Oman Air, MEA etc) ?

J passengers on CX's DOH-HKG flights will have access to the Premium Terminal in DOH, as stated on CX's website:

When I went and clicked on the link for detailed info, it reverted to the Chennai lounge. The email I got from MPO said (as a DM) I'd have access to the Oryx lounge.

I suspect that Cathays webpage is wrong. If it isn't wrong, it would be the absolute first time, that any Premium Pax, with a J/F BP from any other airline, has been granted access to the Premium Terminal.

The Premium Terminal has been the exclusive domain of QR metal J/F passengers. Even Y flying QR PC elites cannot enter the Premium Terminal.

Anything can have its first time. I'd follow what the CX website states as the arrangement is just like the CX/NZ code-sharing and making sense.

I was wondering, purely based on seat comfort/standard seat legroom in Y which is better QR or CX on this route? Also are exit seats available for selection/purchase on both QR and CX? Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.

CX's seats are better in the HKG-DOH leg. Coz LH planes are deployed.
Legroom wise, both are the same really. Both 32" IIRC.
QR's plane are REALLY old for this leg but you may probably want to take theirs as they have amenity kits and more add-ons (like hot snacks+endless rounds of towelette).
