indeed, if you fly XXX-DOH-HKG with last leg on CX, you won't get access of premium terminal

Just had my QR flight in June switched to this as a codeshare. From what I've read, for the time being it's basically a QR flight on a CX aircraft (CX not taking bookings yet, just re-accommodating QR bookings), so access to Premium Terminal will remain.

It better not be a regional aircraft. I will try calling QR later and see what seats they can allocate as seat maps aren't working on MMB.

I am holding a HKG-DOH-CDG // MAD-DOH-HKG Easter trip booked on QR.
Today when I checked my booking I was prompted with "Schedule change has occurred on this trip . Please acknowledge it (...) Please note that the Airline has cancelled one or more of your selected flights".

The final leg on my QR booking is now showing operated by CX:

It's off to the Oryx lounge then?

if it is indeed CX's 33G - that would really be BS if CX put a regional bird on that route, I don't think they will - you just got a huge upgrade. CX's new J is miles ahead of that slanting thing on QR.

or silver lounge. i havent been to either. and i prefer a slant bed to a horizontal bed.
and to make it worse, flying at an angle makes me feel sick. doesnt this happen to any of you guys?

Would be pretty crap to be in that new regional J for 7+ hours.

Or even worse...shell Y seats for 7+ hours....

QR are currently palming off enquiries to CX, who confirmed it will be operated by a long haul A330 ^

YES! Huge upgrade on the Doha route then. We literally had no option for proper beds until this. I am really pleased about this. I never saw F availability to/from Doha on QR, I'm guessing that was before I started to fly to ME and Africa.

I really don't care about the premium terminal if CX doesn't get access....personally think the whole concept is overrated. The simple fact is I'm still stuck connecting in Doha and no amount of amenities, limo buses to the airplane and whatever else makes that better to me than a non-stop. I definitely don't recharge in the lounge. I'd rather be more comfortable on the plane and sleeping. Thus the premium terminal is NOT a game changer in my decision between QR and CX given CX is offering new J versus QR's product, which is frankly similar to two iterations of J class ago for CX pre-2008.

Returning from Africa on QR, after a 3-4 hour regional flight, I find myself dreading those slanty beds for the "relaxing" return leg. Now I can actually look forward to the last overnight leg with CX. Sweet.

Looks like it includes use of the premium terminal.... I wonder if CX and QR will add codeshares at both ends of this flight....

...wow it gets even better. I don't need the premium terminal to switch to CX on this route, but I certainly won't complain if they include it! except for where timing doesn't permit, I can't see why I'd schedule myself to fly on the QR long-haul anymore.

Part of this i suspect is to allow QR to get A330s out of service and refurbished to cover 787 delays, so with luck it wont be long before both flights are on flat beds:cool:

Or the QR "Silver Lounge"? Not sure if access to the PT is mentioned even between the lines?

E: Sorry, didn't look at the bottom of this announcement until now. All clear then.

CX has made it clear that regional is only on flights less than 5 hours

still people ask repeat questions on this...- especially on the SYD route!!
