they have the same number of flights, actually, YYZ only went down to 10 from 14 flights a week, recently....is that what CDG was at? 14 also before May of this year

FRA with a CX lounge has what...7 flights a week....

I have no idea what CX is doing by not having its own lounge in YYZ...its a bloody joke...must be a space thing also...and cost...perhaps too many people with status....

CX does not even bother paying BA $$ at YYZ to have the lounge open in YYZ during the times when CX flies....they used to up until around Feb. 2008...shortly before BA renovated their lounge closer to the gates and since then, the BA lounge is only open during flights when BA flies...

it probably is a space issue...in fact, i noticed on my last flight, even the plaza lounge, the pay in lounge, was not operating for the 01:30 departure out of YYZ...

The current lounge in CDG is truly awful, its tiny and doesnt even have a shower. They currently have 3 slots at CDG with 2 direct and 1 coming now via AMS. The latter is causing no end of trouble and expense to maintain the slot, so much so passengers are now dropping the AMS HKG flights due to severe delays and cancellations as the turn around at CDG is too tight. Management have been aware of this for a long time, yet the arrogance of CX management does not take into consideration the damage they are doing to the customer base who used AMS HKG.

CX only has 2 FLTs to CDG (used to be one non-stop and one with stop in AMS), and now both are non-stop.

Starting from September theyll also introduce new hard-products on the route too (new J, Y+ and new Y). Theyll operate with 77H and 34B, no more 747. So all possible hard products combination on the route: F, Old and new J, Y+, Old and new Y.
They advertise the Economie Premium with flights from September on CX French website.
Unsurprisingly, they seem to sell J a bit more expensive if you want to select the 77H flights.
The 34B will sit in CDG for 13 hours before flying back, so CX obviously doesnt need that frame much.
Theyre finally getting it serious against AF (12 weekly for the winter ; 10-across in their 777 Y). And no more via-AMS second daily which always seemed to me like a temporary fix.

CX CDG lounge is currently subcontracted to Air Tahiti Nui (CDG-LAX-PPT) which departs just a bit earlier than CX260. Lucky for those passengers as well should they continue the contract.
I think that AF is down to 10 weekly in winter (starting end October). They have old F seats, awful angled lie-flat in J and 10 across in Y. No match to CX once they replace their mediocre non-reclining shell seats in Y. CX needed an evening flight (CX279) from CDG to compete with AF. A bit strange that CX278 from HKG is not a day flight like AF second flight, but that leaves time for maintenance in CDG.

This has only just stopped after more than 12 months of complaints from customers and even CX staff the management finally listened, but not after losing a lot of premium passengers from AMS. Thats from the horses mouth.

Air France and KLM both operate non-stop flights between AMS and CDG.

Mayodave & ernestnywang: doesn't CX still operate CX270 & 271 between AMS-CDG?

I think only KL ops this route and AF is just codeshare. Don't think these airlines offer flat beds in J class and KL does not offer F class

I was basing my comment on the Flightmapper data between CDG and AMS. I could totally be wrong, but FM seems to think there are a handful of direct AF flights (and still 2 CX flights, 270 and 272).

Not sure to be honest who else flies to HKG from AMS, I know a number of airlines fly to BKK and carry a lot of onward passengers heading to other Asian destinations

THhs was operating to keep the slots open at CDG. But it caused so much trouble with delays and cancellations on the AMS HKG flights that they had to to stop the AMS CDG AMS sectors
