New CDG Lounge

New Lounge opening in Paris this August
A brand-new Cathay Pacific First and Business Class lounge at Charles de Gaulle Airport, Paris, will open in late August. Located on Level 2 of the new connecting building between Terminals 2A and 2C, our new lounge will provide a comfortable and relaxing environment with over 110 seats, almost tripling the size of the current lounge. Its design features a spectacular view of the runways and an abundance of natural light – echoing the new design concept of The Wing and The Cabin at Hong Kong International Airport. And if you have time for a bite, you can enjoy freshly prepared noodles from The Noodle Bar, as well as a wide variety of new European and Asian dishes..

Business and First together in the lounge? Or two separate lounges?

They might subcontract it out to other airlines during the day?

Who knows? But I am certain that, having a lounge in LHR or JFK may be better than CDG.

Well, for people in LHR or JFK, yes, but not for people in CDG. There is a CX lounge in LHR.

SYD is the one without a CX lounge that seems odd, but I guess as the QF lounge is so good, why compete...

As mentioned, there is already a lounge in LHR. AFAIK there is no space at JFK T7 for another lounge, with BA Terraces and UA RCC taking up all the lounge space.

It’s good news. Can’t wait to try it out on my next return.

Starting from September they’ll also introduce new hard-products on the route too (new J, Y+ and new Y). They’ll operate with 77H and 34B, no more 747. So all possible hard products combination on the route: F, Old and new J, Y+, Old and new Y.
They advertise the “Economie Premium” with flights from September on CX French website.
Unsurprisingly, they seem to sell J a bit more expensive if you want to select the 77H flights.
The 34B will sit in CDG for 13 hours before flying back, so CX obviously doesn’t need that frame much.
They’re finally getting it serious against AF (12 weekly for the winter ; 10-across in their 777 Y). And no more via-AMS second daily which always seemed to me like a temporary fix.

CX CDG lounge is currently subcontracted to Air Tahiti Nui (CDG-LAX-PPT) which departs just a bit earlier than CX260. Lucky for those passengers as well should they continue the contract.

My guess is that if you want to know how the CDG lounge will look....you can probably take pictures of the LHR lounge and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

So they retimed the return flight to hkg to the evening. This is good news

The same could be said about FRA. Pretty solid branding work.
