While the food and drink selection is nicer, I don't think I will be back here again.. I absolutely hate sitting in those pod things, the long sofas were not very private and normal seats at the end of the lounge were always full..

I was in there yesterday afternoon. Also absolutely packed and noisy noisy people talking loudly either in groups or on phones- had to put my earphones in and listen to music to escape the noise. As its small its harder to get away (if you can get a seat that is) although the IT section seemed a little more quiet and refined.
Very hot also when first in there. The novelty is wearing off quickly. I stayed as my gate was 23. Shame as its not bad - maybe should be restricted to gold and above?

It's not hard to do the math. It's smaller than WING and WING (and possibly G16) traffic is migrating to The Cabin. I really doubt CX will limit this to GO, and the only hope is that renovation of WING is fast enough.

CX seems to have moved more of their flights around gate 23 so this is probably affecting traffic at the Cabin.

I find the same too. The new Cabin lounge is not that impressive. The Wing/Pier lounges are much better. Really hope CX won't use the same design for the Wing and Pier renovations.

I'm pretty sure they wont. CX has made it clear in their press release that they want to differentiate the lounge products at home hub HKG.

I really hope they serve authentic local Hong Kong food in one of their lounges. I don't count G16 because one food stand is not food service, although it's damn good... :D

i suspect it is busy since all pax going to HKG (at least I was in BLR on Oct. 16) are being given a nice little red card, i can send it, saying go to the Cabin and a map of the location etc. etc.....

I am in the Cabin now. Very good. Great selections of food of blending western deli style with Hong Kong dim sum selections... ^

Lighting is very good as the big windows allows in plenty of natural light and you get to see the grounds crew in action (if that's your thing.)

Dining room is definitely too small to accommodate any busy days, it is half the size as WING dining room.

Anyway, very impress.

Great photos, mkjr and thanks for sharing these.

The inclusion of the red carpet generated much debate amongst the design team - nicknamed the 'cath walk' and having seen this in-situ last week, I think it is a positive touch.

Expect the theme launched with The Cabin to be developed further as the refit process rolls out to The Wing and The Pier lounges

Been to the Cabin a few times... Food was good, and they do have a good selection (but I did miss the Noodle Bar). One major downside is that CX did not provision for showers at the Cabin. That is one thing I always take advantage of when I have a late flight into or out of HK.

In the Cabin now, too bad there is no fresh salad and sandwich today as the glass where it is put broke off.... :(

That fast!? It's only been a month!

Just been in the cabin and after the novelty of the new food selections wear off, it's quite ordinary. The seating options are strange with those bench seats, and it was crowded and noisy. I guess a lot of people are still trying it out but I left shortly to go to the pier since my flight is departing near there

I was gonna say.... yikes.... I wonder if it was revenge by a worker. Last time I was in the Cabin a management type guy was pretty harsh to the cleaning staff....

Been there on the 7th, the glass was not fixed, however, the salad can ordered thru the server/manager. I didn't like the male "supervisor?", he clearly treated euporean/american better than asian travellers?!
I saw him personally help a family of three sitting in the table, order the salad, and appologies for inconvience; however, when a chinese guy "grap" him, he just pointed over the counter, said wait over the counter, someone will come out later.

How is the Cabin these days? Still crowded?
