The Cabin
I have heard about a new CX / KA lounge called The Cabin opening in September at HKIA.
I hear it will be located at gate 23 and will service both Business & First Class passengers. Room for approx 200 passengers.
Interesting development?

I have been told by Gate 23 at the central concourse....
My next flight out of HKIA is not until 20th April, so will not get chance to check the area out before.

Well I think it cannot be Gate 23 area regardless
However, when I pass though HKIA last time, I found a stair and lift near Gate 27 (or 31, forgot) area which goes towards the Level 6, which probabaly the location for next longue.
Still I found it lack of reason for CX to open 4th airside Longue (Wing, Pier and G16), it only make sense if
1. Closing G16: How many of us go there anyway?
2. Taking over JAL Sakura (part of their cost cutting)
Which CX will able to better serve the airport with
Pier (Gate 1 - 19, 5xx)
** Cabin (Gate 20 - 50)
Wing (Gate 40 - 70)

Last time I passed through HKIA, I had to go to one of the 5xx gates and I found myself shopping near the opposite side away from the CX lounge. I was near G16 and thought I'd try it out (it was my first time there).
I was pleasantly surprised, very nice environment, and food quality on par or better than CX lounge.

I find it occasionally gets a bit noisy with all the boarding/final boarding calls down around the gates. One nice little perk though, is that you can check out exactly how the queues are going if your gate is one of those around there. Sometimes it helps to be the last few to board before the fnal call.
My mum ran into a TW rockstar there before =P =P =P

Any news on when the new lounges opens in September. Going into HK on Sep22 and out on Sep26.
I have form for perfect timing on new CX lounges. Used the Arrival a week after it opened.

I recently contacted CX about a question / suggestion relating to their lounges at HKG and they replied:
...Renovation of the two existing lounges at HKIA is in the planning stage and work on a new additional lounge is also about to be finished.

I think the natural thought would be to assume that CX maybe is considering refurbishing the Wing or Pier, sometime soon. I believe TT has said that a few times before, and it indeed would be intelligent timing so as to give some overflow (particularly GOs and DMs) another place while remodeling the older lounges.
