Crowne Fallsview, Niagara Falls, ON

Has anyone booked a standard room and upgraded at checkin with a discrete/nominal cash incentive for the friendly and efficient front desk person?

If so, what would be a reasonable incentive for a king-suite with view and jacuzzi?

The best rates I've found are:

Standard Room: 110USD plus tax per nite.

Deluxe King: 192USD plus tax per nite.

I'm staying 4 nites over Canada Day, 2009.

Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls, ON deal

Booked standard room for one nite 90CDN prepaid and one nite free 7/2-4/09.

Was upgraded at checkin to queen fallsview (both falls) upper floor for 5CDN gratuity (initially refused).

Also received 2 coupons good for 40CDN at the overpriced dining room at the top of the hotel.

YMMV.

BTW self park was 15CDN per nite.

You should have accepted the refusal and saved the five bucks. Then you could have used it to tip the dealer at the blackjack table.

TVM for your insight.

I've traveled worldwide and visited 100 casinos in 4 decades and never encountered a dealer that could provide a room upgrade for any sized gratuity.
