Booking to LON using UK cc

When I booked MEX-LHR on the BA web site I was charged in $US. Is there any way to force the system to charge me in £. I'd like to avoid the cc foreign trasaction charge if possible.
The only consolation is that LHR-MEX in CW averages around £300 more!

There are 2 ways to do this - call UK telesales, and pay the offline booking charge, or do a 'book and upgrade' on the BA website. Though the latter will only work if you are registered as a UK member (you will be charged in your 'home' currency).

Thanks, but I can't see how I can do the book and upgrade on the web site! I have to input country of departure and that's what seems to force me to pay in $. (I am a UK member though)

Of course you only want to do this if you actually want to (or don't mind to) upgrade with miles. If you just want to buy a regular ticket the only option is to call. You will at least need to upgrade with miles in one direction.

Login to your BAEC account, and then near the bottom of the page a link 'Book and upgrade with BA Miles' appears. Next simply fill in your departure and arrival airport, dates, etc.

Re AA and Expedia:
Then I'd miss out on miles if and when I get my BA Amex card?

You would booking on AA, but providing it isn't an "Expedia Special Fare", booking BA flights on Expedia will show up on you CC statement as a payment to BA and you get the extra BA miles.
