Transfer in HKG query

I will be coming into HKG on Cathay fron Denpasar(DPS) connecting on to BA28. What are the HKG transfer arrangements? All airside?, Immigration and customs?
Thanks

CX in theory should check your baggage through regardless of single or separate ticket.
If so, you don’t need to do much in HK but to use the transit security upon arrival and head to departures level.

If for any reason you can’t get a boarding pass at DPS then you will need to pass through immigration and wait for BA counters to open to get one

And to add the actual transfer at HKG as it is single terminal is very fast and efficeint - you get through in 30 minutes max - it is one of the worlds most efficient airports and it runs generally like clockwork.....

The problem is the bag. Normally the cx connects it, but if it's not allowed, you have to wait until 8pm

HKG is super easy for connections. There are several airside transfer areas located throughout the terminal. When you get off the aircraft it is easy to get caught in the flow of arriving passengers but remember your nearest transfer point might be behind you

Gate 1 - nearest to the Wing
Gate 5 - nearest to the Qantas HK Lounge
Gate 28
Gate 35
Gate 44
Gate 62 - nearest to the Pier

Does BA's ground handler not have a presence at the transfer counter?

I was in June, December last year. They weren't at the counter

quite a few of the convenient transfer points haven’t reopened since the pandemic. There aren’t as many options as there once was.
