New Seating Galleries First LHR

New seating is super comfortable - my only constructive comment is that the lighting felt very dim at 6.30am this morning, but I’m sure that will get better as daylight comes through.

Yes, this furniture is from the same stock that's been rolled out to the T3 lounges, CCR, T5B lounge and Arrivals lounge recently (albeit with variances in what is used in each type of lounge). Nice to see it making its way to the T5A First and (presumably) Club lounges.

Looks comfy, although I wonder how hard-wearing it will be.

Most of the lounge is still aimed at groups sitting together rather than singular travellers / Billy No Mates etc. The average person doesn't really want to sit with a randommer or two at a table.

Looks better though.

It is nice to see them updating the furniture but to be honest I am not over the moon about those seats on the terrace- that is a nice spot for watching planes and I think the high sides are going to restrict the view and be somewhat annoying.
I think I preferred it when there were low armchairs and high tables.

I agree. I think those chairs would have been better placed elsewhere in the lounge. They are comfortable but also awkward to access if someone decides to spreads all their bags etc in front of them making it difficult to get through as I noticed on Thursday

I totally agree! The high tables on the terrace were always my go-to place when travelling solo! I tried the new ones last week and, yes, they definitely restrict the view!

Looks similar to the furniture and lighting in the business lounge at JFK T7

The QF lounge in HKG is perfect proof you can have low seating AND charging.

What a shame charging points have seemingly been overlooked.

I noticed some changes a couple of weeks ago - and more today. Makes you wobder why it took them so long. Added perk today is that it is very quiet! Prob only 20-25% capacity. 🙂

On the whole, I think it's a great improvement. I sat on the terrace in one of the high back/surround seats - nice and quiet and relaxing....
