LON-IBZ (Ibiza) - an interesting flight!

So, we were booked LHR-IBZ on 16/9.

At T-23 hours that flight was cancelled so on to the GGL line and we’re quickly rebooked on a LGW-IBZ flight with similar timings. All good so far despite a bit of a PITA getting to LGW.

Got to gate area (gate 11) and it was pretty raucous (guess I should have expected that!). Boarded slightly late so pushback was delayed. Captain’s pre departure PA was as usual but with the added extra that in the event of unruly behaviour on the flight or if anyone was caught vaping (as, apparently had happened in the gate area) he would not hesitate to divert en route and remove folk! Never heard that warning before.

Taxying out and then we park on a remote stand. Capt says due to the incident at IBZ (LH A320 with u/c issues on landing) we have a 1 hour slot delay. Cue someone deciding that vaping was a good idea - pretty smart ish we’re back in a normal stand with the offender swiftly removed.

Then evident that IBZ wouldn’t open for a couple more hours so we disembark and head back to lounge. When returning to the boarding area ground staff PA says Capt will monitor boarding to check for inebriated punters.

Finally we got underway about 6 hours late. 2 gentlemen in the row in front were obviously pissed but we’re still given 3 rounds of booze before cc decided they’d had enough.

No food in CE due to the time we’d been delayed so the snacks from high life menu offered.

IFL in her PA stated categorically that front loo was for CE pax only and that no more than 2 folk in the queue at any one time - not policed at all with constant stream of folk from ET wandering through to CE cabin.

Capt came to speak with me and the wife to ask if we had any questions regarding the delay - which was a nice touch.

All in all quite an experience!

I'm usually quite tolerant of not great passenger behaviour, but if someone started vaping next to me I wouldn't be held responsible for my actions. Vile stuff...

I cannot imagine how that is feasible on the modern A320s!

Was exactly my thought. Disgraceful behavior and hope it was dealt with appropriately.

Well the male offender has sold his story to the sun etc etc. Mainly concerned with offending his mum.

I could think of nothing worse than an IBZ flight during the summer.

With the introduction of the CT scanners and loosening if the liquids rules. I fear they will get worse.

There's no way that's a BA plane, the galley with space for crew to stand in is the big giveaway

My god, I don't think I've ever been given more than two drinks in CE in a Euroflyer LGW flight. Sober or not.
