Question One World flights

Why isn't a flight that is available on the AA website available on the British Airways site?

I'm trying to find a way to use Avios to book an AA flight. I've never done this before but I thought since they were both part of One World, I would be able to book the flight on either site.

thanks

When using miles/avios/points from a freq flyer program you can only book with the ffp. Not the operating airline.
Not all flights are available for awards.

I had also checked for paying flights on BA that were available on AA and the flights didn't show up on BA.

BA will not sell all AA flights for cash.

Every flight is not covered by a codeshare, and only some flights can be booked in conjunction with other flights. We need more details on what specifically you're trying to book.

I was trying to book DSM - CZM, Feb.7 - March 7.

Several flights are available on AA but none on BA.

Is there a way for me to find any One World airline that has this route?

AA flights will only show up on BA.com if AA SAAver award seats are available.
Not sure how you were searching, but I just checked DSM-CZM on BA.com and there are plenty of Avios seats offered on your Feb 7 outbound...

Thanks for the screen shot. I had thought that I was checking correctly...I guess I was doing something wrong.

EDIT: Any idea why cash paying flights are not available?

AA will be the only OW airline flying that route.
With very few minor exceptions awards are booked on the airline native flight numbers. You need to book with BAEC.

BA will not sell all AA flights for cash. If it chooses to be a "travel agent" reselling AA flights is another question/topic.
BA may have awards available on AA flights (as above)

First, only flights that would be standard awards on AA would be available as awards on BA, Saver awards would not be available for Avios
Additionally, not all flights sold by AA show up on BA and vice versa

As this topic is about spending BA Avios, Ill shift it to the BA forum. Good luck with your booking.

It's actually about using my AA miles anywhere but AA.

Well you can’t use your AA miles on BA.com!

So you really don't have any Avios and only have AA miles? Oy.
