For all those IATA code specialists, you had better start learning the three character UK railway station codes instead. My regular university booking (for one of my children) has been PMS or FTN sometimes to TBD but also to ECR and then down to COH. At least I'm able to avoid LBG for the foreseeable future.

There’s no need to drink your quarantini alone. As I’m presently quarantined, I video called a friend of mine who lives in a different city and we shared a glass of wine together. If you miss your travels this can be enhanced by drinking from a glass that mysteriously ended up in your wife’s/husband’s/ex’/child’s bag during one of your trips. For non-drinkers, your BA teaspoon can come in handy to stir sugar into your tea or coffee.

Which reminds me of an old Noel Coward anecdote that may cheer someone:
Having received a bad review from a critic he wrote to say that he was sitting in the smallest room in the house with the review in front of him, but it would soon be behind him!

The Radio 4 explanation went like this:
Australia sources the vast majority of it's loo roll supply from China.
China shut down its factories almost overnight causing the supply chain to dry up.
Australia ran low on toilet paper and the media covered it there.
This caused a run on the remaining supplies and the well-publicised fights in shops.
Global media then covered the Australian loo roll shortage.
People around the world reacted to this news as advance warning of a global shortage and started to panic buy (even though this is a purely Australian issue and supplies and factories are fine elsewhere)

British Airways – Enhanced Aircraft Cleaning.
Dear Valued Customer,
Due to the existence of the Coronavirus (Covid19), British Airways have introduced an ‘Enhanced Cleaning’ regime onboard our aircraft. This ‘Enhanced Cleaning’ entails the following:
1. We will not be removing litter and other detritus from seat areas.
2. We will not remove used air-sick bags.
3. We will not wipe down surfaces.
4. We will not replace depleted toilet rolls or empty bins in toilets.
5. In our First-Class cabins, we will not be removing the McDonalds paper bags and burger wrappers.
The above has been implemented for your safety and comfort and because all our aircraft cleaners have returned home to Romania/Bulgaria/Poland/Estonia etc due to Coronavirus.
As this ‘Enhanced Cleaning’ is carried out before boarding, we trust that our customers will notice no difference from our usual standards of cleanliness onboard our aircraft.
Alex Cruz – Chairman & CEO British Airways.
