Some photo’s of the A380’s at Chateauroux have been shared on Instagram and Twitter by Capt. Dave Wallsworth.

They can be viewed at the links below

If demand does not come back quickly, is this the end for the 747?

So it seems the other A380s will also be heading to Chateauroux in the coming days. I don’t see why they can’t better utilise the space at LHR and store more planes there.

It's the end for the B744 and A380 fleet. Summer 20 is lost and unless we have the world vaccinated by next summer, the worst recession since the 1920s will ensure they'll struggle to fill the B777-200s. There's not a single route BA will need a quad on before summer 21 peak at the earliest.

i took a cycle around Heathrow yesterday (my one daily exercise) - it looked like most of the remaining A380s are parked at T5B and T5C gates.

i only spotted one of them in a parking area near the perimeter

'Nice' article on the downturn in aviation - route reduction and where airlines park their planes. Although largely not BA, there is a BA picture at the end of the article!

YMMB and YMMC are going to position LHR-LGW today as BA9156P and BA9157P.

Small correction, apologies.
FR24 and BA Source indicate YMMB and YMMC positioned LGW to LHR today (not the other way!)

I’d love to know the rationale behind these moves. Is it for maintenance or maybe suggesting these will become LHR frames.

Yes you are quite right, not sure why I wrote it the wrong way round!

They used P flight numbers which, means positioning. This doesn't really answer the question other than to say when they are going for maintenance purposes they usually use an E on the flight number, for example BA9250E.
