You need to check in with BA

You need to check in with the operating carrier (in this case, BA)

As has been said, you need to check in with BA as the operating carrier. However, you are free to use the Flagship lounge if you wish - which you can reach from TBIT by using the connector walkway.

Most people would probably prefer to utilise the QF F lounge in TBIT, however - which means there is definitely no advantage to checking in at T4 anyway, even if it happened to be possible.

Bc Ive used flagship check in several times flying American and its seamless, whereas Ive experienced frequently 30 minutes waits at security at terminal B even in the priority line. I assumed I couldnt use it but Im not checking in luggage so I thought I might ask to make sure. I also read a thread implying BA first could potentially be able to access FFD but Im not counting on that either.

You can clear security at any terminal - that’s a separate issue to the Flagship check-in.

Last time I was in LAX, just last week as it happens, I was flying AA but wanted to use the QF lounge in TBIT. Knowing the chaos that can resemble security in TBIT, even though it now has TSAPre, I cleared in T5 with zero queue and walked through.

If there's a long queue at TBIT, just head down to the Arrivals Level to the transfer security screening area. Rarely more than a few people there.
